Don’t want to go bankrupt with Christmas shopping this year? Who could blame you? The holidays add up, especially if you have a large family, and there’s kind of an unspoken expectation that presents will be exchanged. Personally, I think it’s a little ridiculous that Christmas should cause financial stress, since that is the antithesis to what the “Christmas spirit” is supposed to be. But I still want to get my family something to show that I care – and I would prefer not to spend my money of useless, cheap junk. If you feel the same way, why not buy your loved ones nice gifts at a price you can afford? Discount shopping in Seattle is abundant. And with the opening of Quil Ceda Village Outlet Stores this last year, it just got even better. Definitely consider going there is you are on a budget this Christmas – it’ll give you way more options that trying to salvage something decent from the picked over sales racks in Seattle.

Quil Ceda Village is a bit of a drive – about 45 minutes to 1 hour in driving distance from Seattle, via I-5 north (past Marysville.) But it is more than worth it. This is definitely Washington’s top outlet mall, located in the same stretch that houses the Tulalip Casino. And the drive from Seattle is nothing compared to the people that drove all the way from neighboring states to check it out when it first opened. It doesn’t matter who you need a gift for: you’re bound to find something here for anyone, and the prices are definitely right. Quil Ceda Village has all the same high end stores as the malls: most of the products are from overstock.

Some outlet stores that you can find here include Puma, Restoration Hardware, Borders Books, Coach, Crabtree and Evelyn, Sketchers, Izod, Ellen Tracy, Jones New York, Burberry, J. Crew, Ann Taylor, Addidas, Eddie Bauer, BCBG Max Azia, Nine West, Nautica, Banana Republic, and Adirenne Vittadini Company. More will be added as the outlet mall becomes more established, but this should be plenty of options to get you started. (after all, these are most of the stores that you’d find anywhere – and they are all right together.) Quil Ceda has all the really high end downtown stores if you have a fashionista in the family that doesn’t like anything that is reasonably priced. And it has all the sports stores, if you are shopping for an athlete. And because the Outlet Store really keeps high quality stock on hand that isn’t dated or completely out of style, they will never know the difference. Plus, you will know that you bought them something thy actually like, which is always nice. It is always a shame to spend money on something that the person will never use. People make a day out of doing al their Christmas shopping at Quil Ceda, and just getting it done in one big lump. And on the drive back, you can stop and pick up a Christmas tree from one of the many tree lots located north of Seattle. At the end of the day, you’ll definitely conclude that the trip was worth it.
