Dixie Stampede Christmas Show in Branson, Missouri
They have four locations. One in Branson, Missouri, Pigeon Forge, Tn., Myrtle Beach, SC., and Orlando, Fl.
We’ve only been to the Branson location but now live somewhat near Pigeon Forge so we are planning a trip there soon for the Christmas show.
Prices: It is a little costly, but considering what you get, I say it’s definately worth it! Tourists come to Branson and expect to pay the same dollar amount for just a show. With the Dixie Stampede, you get the action packed show, plus a delicious 4 course meal. The prices differ at each location ranging from $36-$50 for adults and $19-$25 for children ages 4-11. Again, those prices are all based on different locations and you don’t pay a different price for better seating.

The Meal: The meal is absolutely delicious and it’s fun to eat too since you do not use utensils. My kids love that!! You start out with a very tasty bowl of cream of vegetable soup, which you just pick up and drink. That soup is so good!! Then they bring out your main course which is a whole rotisserie chicken, a bbq pork loin, corn on the cob, an herbed potato and a scrumptious biscuit! Now it’s time for dessert, a yummy apple turnover! You also get unlimited refills of Pepsi, Tea or Coffee. The whole meal is so good and the servers are just wonderful. They really take great care of you and are as friendly as can be. I’ve never been treated poorly there!
What to Expect: We arrive a couple of hours early. When going to the location in Branson, remember that the theater is right on the strip, so if you are there during the busy season, you can expect to be stuck in heavy traffic, so allow time for that! Anyone who has ever been to Branson will know what I mean!
Our first stop is always at the stables. Our children enjoy walking through the stables and seeing the horses in their stalls. They are very calm! Next you shuffle into the theater where you will be directed to the gift shop and have your picture taken. They will ask you towards the end of the show if you would like to purchase it. You will then be escorted into the Carriage Room where you will be able to watch a “pre-show” and munch on popcorn and peanuts and have a non aclcoholic drink, which will be served in a free souvinir mug, but the drink and snack are not free.
After the pre-show, you are then moved into the huge 35,000 sf arena, which seats 1000. The show is a friendly rivalry between the North and the South, and when you make your reservations you can chose which side you want to sit on. Once everyone is seated, the arena fills with fog and you can hear the hooves of the herd of buffalo stampede as they run around the arena. What an amazing sight that is! Then it’s all sorts of horse stunts, a fire ring, special effects, an ostrich race and a pig race (they are so cute!). They even call on some volunteers from the audience to come down and participate in some fun and silly games. All this goes on while you are eating, your meal is served almost immediately. Your servers motivate your dining section to cheer on your side, North or South, into a victory by yelling as loud as you can, stomping your feet and clapping your hands. It is so much fun and little ones never get bored!
We always buy a meal ticket for each of our “under 4” twins because we want them to have a seat of their own, otherwise they will have to sit on your lap and share your meal. Although there is plenty of food that sharing wouldn’t be a problem, it would be difficult to hold a toddler on your lap the entire show.
We also love the Christmas show. This time, instead of the rivalry being between the Yankees and Rebels, it is instead a friendly rivalry between the elves from the North Pole and the South Pole, such a cute spin! It is a Christian show and there is a beautiful live Nativity scene where the 3 Wisemen ride out on camels on their way to Bethlehem. And the Angels are just remarkable. It is such a beautiful show and a wonderful reminder of what Christmas is all about. The Christmas show is my favorite way to get ready for the holidays!
Santa also pays a visit by riding out on his sleigh.
