The Best Hotels in Sikeston on I-55

While the Sikeston/Miner, Missouri area is certainly by any standards considered a “small town,” it has long been a favorite stop by travelers, truck drivers, and tourists alike. Situated off of I-55, it is often passed by folks traveling north to the St. Louis region, as well as people headed south to Memphis, Tennessee. Due to its convenient location nestled in Southeast Missouri, Sikeston/Miner has many hotels and attractions to satisfy even the most discriminating tastes. The area is home to many delicious restaurants and taverns. While the good food is a-plenty, staying in Sikeston/Miner can be tricky. There are certainly a plethora of hotels and motels scattered across the county, but many will agree they are not all up to par. If traveling to the area, be sure to check out these top-notch lodging spots:

1. Days Inn, 1330 South Main St, Sikeston, MO 63801, Reservations 573-471-3930
Located just one mile from I-55, Days Inn is noted for their friendly staff and fresh baked cookies that are available in the lobby. (I personally recommend the oatmeal raisin variety myself.) In addition, they offer a shuttle service for guests and share a parking lot with the best Chinese buffet in town. Other restaurants within a stone’s throw include: McDonald’s, Ryan’s Steakhouse, and Applebee’s. With rates starting at $55, it’s hard to beat the central location and gracious hospitality.

2. Holiday Inn Express, 120 South Interstate Dr., Sikeston, MO 63801, Reservations 573-481-9500
While I personally have never gotten the same “everybody knows your name” feeling that Days Inn has provided at this Holiday Inn Express location, it is certainly worth mentioning. It features many nice amenities such as an outdoor pool, indoor whirlpool, and exercise room that make the $78 starting price tag worth it. The hotel also dotes on providing handicap accessible facilities under the American Disabilities Act. Along with the free continental breakfast and the close proximity to Lambert’s, Sikeston’s famous restaurant that is home to the “throwed rolls”, Holiday Inn Express is a great choice for anyone passing through town.

3. Raudmont Inn, 2608 E. Malone, Sikeston, MO 63801, Reservations 573-471-4700
The crÃ?¨me de la crÃ?¨me of lodging in Sikeston has to be the Raudmont Inn. Also just a short jaunt to Lambert’s and other area restaurants, this inn is high on amenities and low on price With rooms available in the $40 range on up, you best assure that it is the most bang for your buck. Raudmont features both an indoor and outdoor pool. The hotel also is home to its own restaurant, which is convenient, but isn’t about to win any culinary awards. However, the hotel’s lounge is a sure bet. Its chatty regular patrons and nice billiards tables will be sure to keep you entertained for hours. Additionally, the lobby and guest room dÃ?©cor is tasteful and refined and doesn’t give off the “cheap hotel” feel that make most other hotels indistinguishable. Combine that with the smiling and knowledgeable staff, it is no wonder that this is one of the hotels that fills up quickly.
