The New Dodge Charger
For the moms this car has a lot of safety features, which is important because of the special cargo we carry. Child safety door lock, so if your child is like mine they cannot open the door while you are going down the road. Anti-trap trunk device, so the Kids cannot lock you in the trunk. Remote key-less entry, abs brake system with electronic brake assistance, all speed traction control, power windows and doors, are also added to the list. Comfort is also another important factor; mothers have to have enough room seats five adults comfortably) for all the kids and their stuff. The driver and passenger seats have lumbar support. The Charger is a very roomy car with a large trunk. One complaint has been that the trunk has a small opening. This vehicle also comes with driver and passenger airbags with the option for the side curtains. This car has a good overall safety rating.
Some small complaints about the vehicle include, no automatic headlights, small radio controls and the cruise control seems to be hard to use. One thing to be careful about is this car has a bad blind spot (due to the design), which is a problem when trying to back out of spaces.
With all the standard features available, the hardest part is figuring out which one you want. There are five models to chose from, and one left to come. The basic model the Se starts at 22,995.00, a 3.5 V-6, which includes the following: all-speed traction, all wheel abs, electronic stability control, 17-inch wheels tilt-telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, power windows doors and locks. This car has an outside temperature display and rear defrost.
The next model, the V-6 STX, upgrades the sound system to a digital amplifier with six Boston Acoustics speakers. This model has a folding rear seat, fog lights, and heated mirrors. Adding leather wrapped steering wheel, a chrome grille, remote exterior mirrors, 8-way (driver) power seat, and the option to have 18-inch wheels, bumps the price to 25,559.00.
The V-8 models consist of the R/T, the R/T with road and track tuning package, and the Daytona R/T. With the R/T you get a 340 horse powered Hemi (grunt here), with the 5-speed auto stick, made for performance driving (not to be confused with road rage). The Road and track-tuning package added (350 horsepower), tightens up steering response, and adds performance suspension, also has all the features of the STX. The R/T cruises on 18-inch wheels with the heated folding mirrors, and dual exhaust all priced at 29995.00.
For those of you who must have the top dog, the Limited edition Daytona R/T is for you. With a chest thumping 345 horsepower V-8 and dual exhaust. With a slight retro look and the limited edition paint, this car is impressive. This car includes the following: rear deck lid and front chin spoiler, honeycomb grille, and the Heritage R/T badge. The road and track suspension is included with the addition of suede seat inserts, heated front seats, and power adjustable pedals. This model is priced at 32,495.00.
Therefore, now that you have the basics on the New Chargers go ahead and make the choice. In my own opinion, I think this car rocks in more ways than one, but they are not for everyone. This car was a targeted toward younger males, but I think more women are going to be driving these beasts.
