People can travel during the months of May through September. Grand Rapids, Lake Michigan Dunes, Cherlevoix/Sault Ste. Marie, Upper Pennisula, Mackinac Island, Frankenmuth/Dearborn, Henry Ford Museum and Traverse City for under $2000.00

There is apple picking in September and the Dunes and beaches for the summer also peaches and cherries can be picked up at some locations along the journey.

The name, Ah-Nab-Awen, was proposed by the Elders of the Three Fires Council and means, Resting Place. The Park exhibits numerous pieces of art and interpretive markers and is often viewed in the context of the later addition to the site, the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. Ah-Nab-Awen Park hosts many large community-wide festivals including the July 4th fireworks and Celebration on the Grand.

Traverse City has great wineries to visit and taste. The Grand Traverse City winery is located off of one of the main roads into to Traverse City and offers a wide array of traditional wines and dessert wines as well.

Mackinac State Historic Parks (MSHP) includes four living history parks and museums in the Straits of Mackinac: Fort Mackinac and Mackinac Island State Park on Mackinac Island, and Colonial Michilimackinac and Historic Mill Creek in Mackinaw City. Fort Mackinac, Mackinac Island and Colonial Michilimackinac are National Historic Landmarks. The parks are open daily May 5th until October 10, 2004.

Ferry back to the mainland and travel south to Frankenmuth. Browse through a Bavarian-style village. You’ll understand why Michigan is considered one of the nation’s leading manufacturing states when you see it’s industrial heritage en route to Dearborn.
