Four Places to Getaway and Star Gaze

Getting away from life and escaping into obscurity is what many people enjoy doing regularly. But what about getting away, celebrity style? To tell the truth, there are plenty of resort towns that the rich and famous go to in order to relax. Some of the more popular are well known vacation spots that even those of us who are “regular” folks can enjoy. Here are four places that you can go relax, enjoy some fine dining and good shopping, take in the outdoors, and even do a little “star gazing.”

Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Jackson Hole is within easy distance of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. It is also a skiing Mecca in the winter and a hiking and biking paradise during the summer months. Fine dining, upscale boutiques, and luxurious spas and accommodations make this an ideal place to get away. Harrison Ford lives near Jackson Hole, enjoying the solitude and volunteering with the local Search and Rescue with his private aircraft. Imagine getting lost�and then found by Indiana Jones!

Lake Tahoe, California

Cal Neva hotel is one of the premier celebrity accommodations when it comes to getaways. Frank Sinatra owned this lodge from 1960-1963 and built the Celebrity Showroom. Today the resort hotel features lake view rooms, a casino, chalets and cabins, and the finest amenities. Bald Head Island, North Carolina

This East Coast getaway is beginning to attract attention, as it is the very picture of escape. Only accessible by boat, celebrities and the not-so-famous rich are beginning to purchase property. The island’s golf course is rated high, and the amenities are excellent. The setting is bucolic, and nobody would accuse the area of having a jumping nightlife. But it is just the place to avoid the paparazzi and disappear into blissful obscurity.

Park City, Utah

This is perhaps among the most well known getaways. Obviously, during the famous Sundance Film Festival celebrities appear in droves. You can stay at the Miner’s Lodge and see any number of famous and rich people. But, even during the rest of the year Park City retains its glamour. Highend restraints, fabulous skiing, and ample hiking ensure that you can take in the breathtaking scenery year round. And even see the celebrities (like Robert Redford) who know that there is more to Park City than the Sundance Film Festival.
