Join Us at the Movies: A Guide to the Movie Theaters of Cache Valley

Movies are a staple of entertainment today. Sometimes the theater can make or break the experience, even more so than the actual movie. We all have our favorite theater, so here’s a list of theaters in Cache County to help you choose yours.

(1) Westates Theaters Providence Stadium 8 is located at 535 West 100 North in Providence. This theater shows first run and premier movies. It has stadium seating and premium surround sound. The price runs from $4.50 for matinees and regular child admission to $6.50 for evening adult admission. Providence Stadium 8 also offers a midnight showing on Friday and Saturday nights.

Providence Stadium 8 is definitely the best theater in the valley. It is comfortable with rocking seats and movable arm rests. It is also convenient because for a small processing fee you can order tickets for its showings at www.movieswest.com. Tickets may be ordered up to a half hour before movie time and can also be purchased several days in advance. If you’re looking for a great movie theater, you can’t go wrong with Providence Stadium 8.

(2) Westates Logan Movies 5 is located at 2450 North Main in Logan. Logan Movies 5 also shows first run and premier movies. It was recently renovated to include stadium seating and surround sound. The price is the same as Providence Stadium 8 with matinees at $4.50 and regular admission at $6.50.

Logan Movies 5 is not as comfortable as Providence Stadium 8. Its stadium seating includes rocking seats, but not movable arm rests. It is, however, less busy and so sometimes a better option to Providence Stadium 8 if you want to avoid the crowds. You can also purchase tickets online for this theater at the Westates theaters website.

(3) Cinefour Theaters is located at 2297 North Main in Logan. Cinefour is a discount theater showing second run movies. Movies are $3 for adult evening shows and $2 for children, seniors, and matinees. The theaters are large and clean. This theater is a cheap alternative to some of the other more expensive theaters. They also show a children’s’ matinee on Saturdays to help parents with those rambunctious kids. Cinefour is a great moving going experience at a good price.

(4) Westates Theaters Cache Valley 3 is located at 1221 North 200 East in Logan, next to the Cache Valley Mall.

Cache Valley 3 is not a very busy location, but not the best movie going experience out there. The pricing is $6.50 for adults and $4.50 for children and matinees. This theater is a part of the Westates chain, but does not allow the luxury of online ticket ordering.

Cache Valley 3 theater is old and less comfortable. It shows its age. They occasionally have problems with their projector, and I have been there several times where the movie was delayed or stopped due to film issues. Cache Valley 3 is a less crowded alternative, but I would recommend taking advantage of other theaters for a better movie going experience.

Whether you like first run advanced theaters or to wait for a cheaper movie going experience, Cache Valley has a lot to offer, so get on out there to the movies and enjoy!
