Whether you actually call this small New England town home, or you’re looking for a neutral, easy-to-get-to, south-of-Boston location to host a wedding with guests from all-over, Foxboro, Massachusetts offers several great venues for weddings.

CHURCHES. For a town of about sixteen thousand people, Foxboro has a surprising number of churches serving faiths of all sorts. Right on the lovely town common looms the towering spire of the Bethany Congregational Church (508-543-5678). We’re not making that number up. Across the street, also on the common is the neo-classical building which houses Foxboro’s Universalist Church (6 Bird Street, 508-543-4002). Also “centrally located” off Central Street are St. Mary’s Catholic Church (rectory at 83 Central Street, 508-543-7726) home to Foxboro’s biggest congregation, The Church of Emmanuel, (508-543-2120). and Foxboro’s Seventh Day Adventists Church (308 Central St., 508-543-9346).

Shooting off the common on Main St. are Lutheran Church of the Redeemer ( 508-543-1071) and The Church of Latter Day Saints (508-543-7276). Heading south off the common, you’ll find St. Mark’s Episcopal Church (116 South St., 508-543-8191) and further south still the Evangelical Union Church (508-543-5088). Take a different turn down Mechanic St. from the center of Foxboro to find 1st Baptist Church (508-543-5124). Couples seeking Jewish or Muslim weddings can find houses of worship just one town over in Sharon. All institutions should be contact for their own wedding policies.

The Lafayette House (Rte 1, 508-543-5344) is known throughout the state for it’s first-rate dining, has several wedding packages available, with price quotes beginning for parties of 100 guests. Established in 1784, it offers colonial appeal and fine dining.

Cristina’s (also Rte 1, 508-668-7200) offers wedding packages which include everything from centerpieces to videographer to a DJ, depending on the package you choose. Cristina’s is located near Funway Cafe, an affiliated restaurant that’s nice, but low key, and might make a nice rehearsal dinner spot if you want to keep things in the same area.

Another popular and respected reception venue in Foxboro is the Lakeview Pavilion (45 Lakeview Rd, 508-543-9099). Lakeview boast a chandelier-adorned Grand Ballroom and holds to it’s “one wedding at a time” policy which means your big day will the only big day going on. They offer specials for winter weddings. Party minimums are in the 100-200 person range, maxing out at 500 guests. Prices vary by package.

For those die-hard Patriots fan couples, Gillette Stadium (Rte 1, 508-384-4373) offers event space with a view of the field (and a three thousand person capacity!). It may be a nice option if you don’t mind holding your wedding reception in a place called The Fidelity Investments Clubhouse.

And, not to be outdone by independent operators, Courtyard by Marriott Foxborough (35 Foxborough Blvd, 877-477-5817 for reservations) also “does weddings” with a wedding planner on staff and space for receptions of up to forty-five guests.
