Getting the Most Relaxation from Your Hot Tub

For thousands of years, people have known the soothing powers of a hot bath. The ancient Romans built an entire culture around a warm bath. Even they knew that a soak in a tub of warm water could brighten even the worst day. Today the hot tub is a tiny version of the Roman bath and a soak is still a great way to wash off the stress of the day.

Hot tubs come in many different shapes and jet configurations; the style of your tub depends upon your individual preferences. Many tubs have special jets that are dedicated to the neck, or the feet. Some have adjustable jets that would make a shower massager jealous. People have found that an excellent way to relax is to let the jets blow on especially tense muscles or knotty areas of their body. It does not matter whether you have four jets or twenty-seven. The important part is that the water circulates through the jets and that you can make use of them.

Heat is another important part of the hot tub experience. Though individual preferences vary, the perfect temperature for ultimate relaxation should be between 98 and 102 degrees. This can vary depending upon the outside temperature. If the temperature outside is cooler, then the tub may be cooler to achieve the desired results.

Start your hot tub experience by sliding down into the warm water, clear your mind, and enjoy the moment. A glass of wine, or margarita in a plastic glass is a nice touch.

The hot tub is most enjoyable in the company of at least one other person. Talking with them can allow idea to flow freely, like the water swirling around you. Communication comes easier in the hot tub. As in ancient Roman, business deals may be sealed in the hot tub.

Experiment with different temperatures and jet configurations; try out some of the fragrances and/or bubble bath products in your tub. These can provide a delightful experience. (NOTE: Make sure the product is specifically designed for hot tubs, if you use a regular bubble bath for instance, it may cause problems with your filter.)

Your hot tub should be a source of enjoyment and pleasure, as well as relaxation.
