Creating a Romantic Bath
Would you enjoy a cozy and pleasurable setting where you and your sweetheart can totally relax and relish each other’s company? Create a luxurious, sensual and very romantic bath! You can easily turn an ordinary tub of water into a self-indulgent spa for two with a little imagination and a few special items. Here are ideas to try with reviews of two of my favorite bath products.
Lighting
Soft lights create a dreamy atmosphere. Place candles in safe locations on your countertop or edges of the tub for a flickering, romantic glow. Or equip your overhead bathroom light with a dimmer switch.
Sounds
Play background music to enhance the cozy mood of your special bath. Choose country, classical, jazz, show tune, or whatever style the two of you find most appealing and romantic.
Linens, Robes, & Lingerie
Provide thick, plush, and oversized bath towels of your choice for after bath use. You might also enjoy purchasing tantalizing lingerie and robes to be used only on romantic bath nights.
Food & Drink
Favorite snacks and favorite beverages are a fun addition to the romantic bath. Ideas for drinks include chilled wine, sparkling cider, club soda with lemon wedges, steaming tea or cocoa. Cool beverages go particularly well with hot baths. Add finger foods you and your love are particularly fond of such as chocolate, cookies, nuts, or whatever treats you find especially delicious.
Aromatherapy Mineral Salts & Essential Oils
After you have filled your tub with warm water, you may wish to try one or both of the following products for your romantic bath.
Little Moon Essentials PASSION, “a bath for two, or just for you”, Aromatherapy Mineral Bath
The crystals of Passion are a beautiful ruby color and contain mineral salts, organic beet powder, rose and safflower petals, and essential oils such as tangerine, cardamom, and ylang-ylang. It is said to have aphrodisiac and tension-relieving qualities to renew energy and passion. My mate and I found Passion’s distinctly sweet scent and water coloring properties delightful. The rose petal embellishments are a nice touch. You will have to decide on its aphrodisiac producing abilities for yourself!
Burt’s Bees Citrus & Ginger Root Body Wash
This thick, amber liquid soap combines essential oils of citrus, coconut, and sunflower with ginger root extract. It also contains the aphrodisiac ylang-ylang, oils of lemon, lime, lavender, clove, nutmeg and other aromatic botanicals to rejuvenate the body. The combination of sweet, spicy, and citrus scents of the soap is wonderful!
The citrus body wash is said to be gentle, effective and richly foaming. We found that a little goes a long ways. You can apply the soap to your skin with a loofah, sponge, cloth, or hands.
We also found that this citrus wash is a wonderful bubble bath. A little placed in the water of an operating Jacuzzi tub produced a 7 or 8″ thick layer of fluffy bubbles in just a matter of minutes! You can use it in a regular tub for a few extra bubbles as well.
With these two products or other similar natural bath products, a few easily obtained supplies, and a little imagination, you can create a loving haven for your sweetheart and yourself through a tub for two – a luxurious, sensual, and very romantic bath. Enjoy!
