Lying in the darkness

My eyes wide awake

I wonder for how much longer

And how much more of this I can take

I feel like I’m always waiting

For a time that never arrives

For you to look up and notice

The tears filling my eyes

I’m tired of feeling all alone

Even as you lie by my side

It’s like I’m here, but don’t exist

Still the distance between us grows wide

You say I’m always bitching

But my words you never hear

As I become a ghost of myself

You turn in to my greatest fear
