Horror Poems

Coronado

Coronado played the harp on the Kansas plain,
gold and green.
A Legion followed straight
armed with prayer books and chains.
Blood spurt on their hands,
scriptures out of lips,
making this life hell
in glory of the next.

Cupid

Cupid was hacked into pieces
for mistakes of bow and arrow
foolishly aimed.
The sprite of love had no regrets
staring up in peace at the woman
holding the bloody axe.
