Guild Wars: Guide to Conditions

In the MMORG online game Guild Wars in the land of Tyria, the characters will find themselves in the middle of various skills and environments. There are those that will cause harm to your character for different lengths of time and degrees of damage. This article will overview the various Guild Wars Conditions and some of the possible counter-attacks to these conditions. When you are under a condition there will be an icon in the upper left of the screen that will show you the condition you are suffering from; also there are other visual ways to tell. Conditions in Guild Wars will stack. Guild Wars conditions are as follows:

Bleeding
The Guild War condition “Bleeding” will cause you to suffer a health degeneration of -3 (and the target loses health/second). You can tell you are “Bleeding” by the icon and by a small red mist that will encircle your character. The length of time consumed by this condition will vary depending on what actually inflicts “Bleeding” upon you.

Blind
The Guild War condition “Blind” will cause your melee and projection attacks not to work as well, with a 90% chance of missing your target. A character under “Blind” can be seen by the icon and by a black mist that will float in front of the character’s face. The length of time consumed by this condition will vary depending on what actually inflicts “Blind” upon you.

Burning
The Guild War condition “Burning” will cause you to suffer health degeneration -7 (with target losing 14 health per second). You will be able to tell you are “Burning” by the flames that will engulf your character’s body. The length of time consumed by this condition will vary depending on what actually inflicts “Burning” upon you.

Crippled
The Guild War condition “Crippled” will slow your character’s motion by 50% of normal. You will be able to tell you are “Crippled” by your character’s limp.
The length of time consumed by this condition will vary depending on what actually inflicts “Crippled” upon you.

Dazed
The Guild War condition “Dazed” will cause you to require twice as long to cast any spells, and will also increase their ability to be interrupted. You will be about to tell if you are “Dazed” by the pulsing white sphere that will be around your character’s head. The length of time consumed by this condition will vary depending on what actually inflicts “Dazed” upon you.

Deep Wound
The Guild War condition “Deep Wound” will cause your character’s maximum health to decrease by 20% and will also reduce the health your character receives from any healing. There is no identifying characteristic to be able to tell your character is under “Deep Wound” other than the icon. The length of time consumed by this condition will vary depending on what actually inflicts “Deep Wound” upon you.

Disease
The Guild War condition “Deep Wound” will cause your character to suffer a health degeneration of -4 (with target losing 8 health per second). If you are diseased you can spread this to characters or creatures of the same species, whether an enemy or an ally. There is a green mist and black flies that will surround your character if you are afflicted with “Disease”. The length of time consumed by this condition will vary depending on what actually inflicts “Disease” upon you.

Poison
The Guild War condition “Poison” will cause your character to suffer a health degeneration of -4 (with target losing 8 health per second). You can tell your character is suffering from “Poison” by the green skull that will orbit your head and a trail of green mist. The length of time consumed by this condition will vary depending on what actually inflicts “Poison” upon you.

Weak
The Guild War condition “Weak” will cause your character to deal less damage with any melee or projection attacks. A character under the condition of “Weak” can be seen by the white fog at their feet. The length of time consumed by this condition will vary depending on what actually inflicts “Weak” upon you.

Other Conditions Affecting Player Status:

Death Penalty
In Guild Wars, a 15% Death Penalty will result from each death. You maximum health and energy are reduced by the amount listed on the icon that will show in the left side of the screen).The maximum death penalty you can suffer is -60%.
Ways to remove Death Penalty:
Candy Cane shards were given out during Christmas in Tyria, they take away all death penalty with you right click on them.
Morale boosts will reduce Death Penalty.
Combat kills and killing bosses will reduce any Death Penalty.
If you finish a mission or return to the outpost it will take off all Death Penalty as well.

Exhaustion
In Guild Wars, Exhaustion comes from Elementalist using some of their spells. Exhaustion spells reduce your maximum energy by 10.
Ways to remove Exhaustion:
You will gain 1 energy every 3 seconds of game play. One level of exhaustion will require a half minute to remove.

Morale Boost
In Guild Wars, Morale Boost is the very opposite of death penalty. It will increase your maximum health and energy by the amount on the icon in the upper left of the screen. Saving townsfolk, doing some challenges, and other various events in Tyria will give you a morale boost. The maximum morale boost you will ever have is +10%.
Ways to remove Morale Boost:
The only way to loose a morale boost is by suffering a death penalty or returning to a town or outpost.
