Bio of Rainn Wilson from NBC’s The Office

Rainn Wilson plays the part of Dwight Schrute on NBC’s comedic hit “The Office.” Dwight Schrute is an offbeat paper salesman who has an ego the size of a killer whale. Rainn Wilson nails the role of a nerdy salesman perfectly.

Wilson studied acting at New York University’s prestigious acting program. He earned his Masters degree there.

Wilson was born on January 20 1968 in Seattle, Washington. He is the proud owner of two pit bulls named Oona and Harper Lee. Today Wilson lives in Los Angeles with his family of a wife and son. His wife is Holiday Reinhorn. She is a fiction writer.

Wilson began his career in the theater. He has performed in two Broadway Plays and numerous off-Broadway productions. His Broadway roles in clued parts in “London Assurance” and “The Tempest.” His off-Broadway parts include roles in “Titus Andronicus,” “Twelfth Night,” “Plunge,” “Venus,” and “The New Bonanza.” He has also performed at the Arena Stage, Dallas Theater Center, and the Guthrie Theater.

Wilson has had reoccurring role son other television shows such as HBO’s huge hit “Six Feet Under.” He plays the part of Arthur Marin, an unusual and quirky mortician intern. Other television roles include spots on “CSI,” “Monk,” and “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Entourage,” “MD’s,” Dark Angel,” “Charmed,” “The Expendables,” and “One Life to Live.”

On the big screen Wilson has a role in the movie “Sahara” starring Mathew McConaughey. Other co actors included Penelope Cruz and Steve Zahn. Wilson has also starred in the film “Baadassss.” He played the part of a producer caught in the free loving 1960’s. Wilson also had a role in Cameron Crowe’s “Almost Famous.” Other big screen films include “American Sweethearts,” “Full Frontal,” Galaxy Quest,” “Wheelman,” and “House of 1000 Corpses.”

Most recently Wilson is involved in filming a comedy by Ivan Reitman. “Super Ex-Girlfriend” is a comedy starring both Uma Thurman and Luke Wilson.
Wilson has appeared as a guest on “Last Call with Carson Daly,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” and “Henry’s Film Corner.”

Wilson’s pass times include tennis, rock music, and chess.
