Planning a Social Event at Work
Food
The food is the important thing to figure out. What type of food should be at the event? A variety of different kinds of food. You want food that is tastey and that everyone will enjoy. You need some veggies. Of course you can’t go wrong with having chicken or steak at the social event. Almost everyone loves grilled hamburgers depending upon what type of event it is.
Drinks
You need to figure out how many drinks you need to get for everyone. It is probably a good idea just to keep it to soda and water. Fruit punch and seven up soda is always good too. Depending upon what type of event it is alcohol probably isn’t a good idea at a work event. You can’t go wrong a variety of different soda’s.
Theme
You need to decide on the theme of the event. What type of social event is it? You need to get decorations for the theme. The theme is the second most important. In order to plan a good social event at work you need to celebrate something. Make sure the theme decorations catches people attention. Make sure to have a few center pieces on the tables around the food. Bring enough forks and spoons to the event for everyone.
Guests
You need to figure out how many employee’s are going to be at the event. You need to take into consideration that some of them might bring family members such as wife or children along with friends and other associates. You need to always get more food despite the number of guests you are having.
Tables and Chairs
Make sure to have enough tables and chairs for everyone. You don’t want to leave your guests having to stand up the entire time at the social event. Set out a few extra chairs with tables due to having extra guests show up. It is better to be over prepared than under prepared. Make sure to bring enough table clothes too. Make sure the table clothes match the theme of the party.
Music
You need to get some music. Make sure that the music matches the event theme. You can have slow music or some soft music. Depending upon what type of event it is. Just make sure that the music is appropriate for everyone and doesn’t bore everyone. Some events don’t have music, but most of the time the guests appreciate having music to listen to. Make sure the music is turned down on a low volume so people don’t have to yell at each other.
