Senate Bill 2611: How Your Senator Voted, How to Contact Them and Who is Up for Re-Election This Year

On Thursday, May 25, 2006 our US Senate voted on what may be one of the most important bills to pass through their hands in years. I and many other Americans are shocked and terribly upset with the final outcome of all their deliberations. Do not stand by quietly waiting for the people you elected to tell you what will happen. You must contact your elected representatives. You must let them know how you feel. This is the time for every voting citizen to make his or her voice heard. If you feel that your Senators have stood up for you and what you believe in, tell them so. Thank them for supporting you and be sure to vote for them again when the time comes. But if your Senator has not voted in a way that coincides with your own feelings, you should definitely tell them. Let them know why you disagree with their vote and let them know you will not vote for them again because you do not believe they are providing true representation. A person that does not do their part to make their voice heard has no room to complain about any outcome in the future.

I would like to help you easily contact your Senators. In fact, try contacting other Senators too. These are the people elected to serve; you have a right to contact any of them you’d like. Even though they have already voted, you should still let them know what you think about it. Remember, some of these Senators will be on the committee to debate the final bill.

The names here are arranged by the way each chose to vote on Senate Bill 2611. I hope you will see how your Senator voted and contact them to let them know where you stand. There is nothing wrong with reminding our officials that we voted them into this position because we believed they would truly represent us. If they are not doing so it will be up to you and I to be sure they do not get voted into any office again.
