Nude Beaches in the Bay Area

If you want to go to the beach and not leave with a tanline here is a list of the many beaches in the Bay Area which allow you to relax in your birthday suit instead of a bathing one.

Ã?· North Baker Beach – Located in San Francisco county North Baker Beach is a great place to work on the whole body tan as well as being one of the better beaches for people watching. Even though North Baker Beach does have its share of people who gawk and the occassional blasing ghetto blaster it is San Francisco’s best nude beach. The parking is sparce so in the beach season of Aril until the beginning of the fall get there early to ensure a place in the lot.

Ã?· Devil’s Slide – Located in San Mateo County it is California’s only state designated beach that is clothing optional. Devil’s Slide has orange sandstone cliffs which surround a 300 foot long beach and the gorgeous Pacific Ocean. There is not a sign posted to warn of nudes in the area so there are many tourists, families, and surfers. Because of this the nude use has fallen in recent years.

Ã?· San Gregorio State Beach – Also in San Mateo County the San Gregorio beach has a couple miles of soft sand, tide pools, a lagoon, a lava tube, and what remains of a railroad up on the cliffs. The crowd leans towards a gay oreinted one but there are many non gays, couples, and families who are not in the buff. There are structures of driftwood which are used for shelters from the winds as well “sex condos” by a few regulars which can offend some visitors.

Ã?· Bonny Doon Beach – Located in Santa Cruz County this beach has friendly people and cliffs that shield the wind. There is a skinny dipping cove which to disrobe at adjacent to the clothed beach. Bonny Doon Beach has more women and couples than others but watch out for the gawkers and make sure to lock your car.

Ã?· Red, White, and Blue Beach – This beach also located in Santa Cruz County is a place to camp in the buff overnight as you can play volleyball, horseshoes, or barbecue in the pits. It’s a hassle free place which alos offers great swimming. The fees are 12$ a day before 3 P.M. or 18$ a night per guest.

Ã?· 2222 – 2222 Beach located in Santa Cruz County has a gorgeous beach backed by bluffs and is used by college students and locals alike. The paths down to the beach are a bit tricky so be careful so it’s not for the kids or for carrying heavy gear but once there it’s definitely worth it. The beach is seen from above but people rarely stop to gawk.

Ã?· Muir Beach – Located in Marin County Muir Beach is a place that must be visited as it’s the easiest to use and offers the best walks in the area. The crowd is mellow and diverse and parking is readily available. The beach offers great swimming and beautiful sand in the quarter moon shaped cove. Thee only drawback in the fog and wind which are present in the area at times.
