We Sell Generic Viagra? Think Again!
Pfizer stock exploded when Viagra first came out. It was a new dimension in pharmaceuticals. The first male impotence drug, it was sure to be a hit. Every pharmacy in America was receiving phone calls about its release date. Now everyone wants to know when the generic will be available.
Try at least 2010.
What does this mean? It means that you ARE NOT getting generic Viagra for $3 a pill. It means that you might have a placebo or maybe a harmless vitamin with traces of Sildenafil Citrate in it. Does this mean you will still get an erection? Probably not. Our parents always said that if it was too good to be true, then it probably isn’t true. A cure for impotence at $3 a pill? Highly unlikely. But it is easyt to gorget that there are some scary side effects and problems with Viagra. These are all compounded when you buy the drug from a non-regulated pharmacy.
Here are some interesting facts you should know about Viagra:
-It works on the blood vessels of the penis allowing the flow of blood needed for an erection
-The most commonly reported side effects are abnormal vision and urinary tract infections
-You cannot take any nitrate-based drugs while on Viagra.
The last point is interesting because a large section of the “Viagra Population” are between fifty and seventy years old. Many have had heart disease or heart attacks and need to take nitroglycerin tablets or patches. Combining Viagra plus these can cause a drastic lowering of the blood pressure. It isn’t something you want to mess around with.
Recently on the news there have been an influx of cases dealing with Viagra and blindness. THere are many more long-term effects that we in the medical community just don’t know about yet.
So if you see an ad and it says “Generic Viagra” disregard it. There is no such thing as generic Viagra. Without the patent being expired, a pill by any other name just isn’t the same.
