Arm & Hammer Liquid Laundry Detergent Plus a Touch of Softener

I have tried a lot of clothes detergents in my life, and they’ve never really proven themselves to be much different between the varieties. However, lately, Arm and Hammer Liquid Laundry Detergent Plus a Touch of Softener changed my mind. I got this during a huge sale they were having. I’m cheap and I buy what is on sale and this way, I thought in my frugalness, I wouldn’t have to buy the extra fabric softener to go along with it. I took it home and used it that next morning on my clothes, still expecting it to do like all the other fabric detergents around.

Oh, and I don’t usually separate my clothes either, so I’m just a little laundry thorn in a detergent maker’s side. One thing I noticed is that when the clothes were done they weren’t plastered to the side of the washing machine like normal, they were pliable and, dare I say it, softer. Popped them in the dryer and waited to see how they did. Not only did they come out soft and smelling wonderful, but they didn’t have the static that my clothes usually have if I don’t use a dryer sheet. Was I converted? Oh yes. And now I buy Arm and Hammer Liquid Laundry Detergent Plus a Touch of Softener whether it is on sale or not.

Arm and Hammer Liquid Laundry Detergent Plus a Touch of Softener comes in 2 fragrances-Orchard Bloom and Seaside Breeze. It comes in powder form too, but I prefer the liquid. The 100 ounce bottle will do approximately 26 wash loads, and it is biodegradable which is good for our environment. It does contain baking soda which studies have shown to eliminate odors without chemicals, a more natural way to get rid of stinky clothes instead of just covering up the odors. There is a blue color to the detergent, but it will not stain the clothes even if you use it to pre treat the stain as I do. The blue dissipates in the water so there is no fear of turning even a white shirt blue with it.

Arm and Hammer Liquid Laundry Detergent Plus a Touch of Softener is available at all food and drug stores, and at mass market general stores. It typically runs $4-$6 depending on where you buy it for the 100 ounce size. They offer two fragrances in the liquid and in the powder if you prefer powder instead.
