Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle Swing
The Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle Swing has the unique feature of allowing the swing to change from a back-to-front swing to a cradle swing with the push of a button. Some babies find the cradle swing feature to be more soothing than the regular front-to-back motion of other popular swings.
Along with its unique two position swing, the newer version of the swing has an adjustable reclining seat for the comfort of the baby. Because I purchased one of the first versions of the Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle Swing, my swing does not have that feature. While my babies have enjoyed the swing nonetheless, I can see how this adjustable reclining seat might be great for babies to prefer to sit more upright in the swing due to reflux or just to be able to better see what is going on around them.
The Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle Swing has six speeds. I have never used more than about four speeds, however. The highest speed setting is a little scary to me because it seems incredibly fast.
The Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle Swing plays music and soothing sounds. Sounds of ocean waves, a babbling brook and rain are the sound options and “soundscapes” type music is used to play songs like “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and “Brahms Lullaby”.
My favorite soothing features of the Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle Swing are its mobile and fish bowl-like globe. The mobile, which has four sea creatures attached to it, spins slowly around to soothe and entertain baby. The plush sea creatures can be removed for play experience with textures and for teething. The globe has lights that change color and sea creatures that appear to float around in water. The motion helps to captivate baby until he or she drifts off to sleep. An attached toy tray with a bead bar is great for the baby using the swing for entertainment while mom needs both hands to cook, clean or simply take a break.
It’s obvious that I love the Ocean Wonders Aquarium Cradle swing and that my babies did, too. The only way this swing could be made better is if it was electric instead of battery powered. The swing feature used alone is not too draining on the batteries. However, the globe with its lights will pull energy quickly from batteries. When combined in use with the soothing sounds, the batteries last only 10 hours or so. The swing requires 4 D cell batteries.
I would recommend this swing to any parents looking for a swing that can both entertain and soothe baby. I’d feel the need to let parents know to expect the purchase of batteries for the swing to become a regular occurrence.
