Bertolli’s Complete Skillet Dinner for Two
I know that I probably sound like a commercial, but honestly, it comes from my heart when I say that Bertolli frozen meals have truly improved life in my home. Like many people, I am often skeptical of anything that comes in a bag and claims to be a complete dinner for two. I saw the commercial for the Bertolli meals on t.v., and then I saw a coupon in the paper, so I clipped it just in case. I held onto that coupon for quite some time, since the meals were $7.99 in my local supermarket, and even with $1 off coupon, I could not justify paying that price for frozen food. Finally, they went on sale for $5.99, so I decided to use my coupon and give it a shot. I purchased the Italian Sausage and Rigatoni one, and a few nights later made it for dinner.
I could hardly believe it when the bag said that I could put it in the frying pan, stir it once halfway through, and it would be cooked in ten minutes. I followed the directions, and in ten minutes there was a delicious meal on our plates. Often, frozen meals like these have far too much sodium in them and taste more like salt than anything else, but Bertolli meals are an exception. You can actually taste the variety of fresh vegetables, and the sauces taste like gourmet Italian blends!
Since this first experiment, my husband and I have rejoiced in trying the many different varieties. They are all wonderful! The only one that I don’t personally like, although my husband thinks it is very good, is the Chicken Parmigiana with Penne (I just think that chicken parmigiana breading is meant to be slightly crispy and this is more spongy). My husband does not cook at all; even Rice-a-Roni is intimidating to him, which used to mean that I always knew that I had to prepare dinner when I got home, even if he got home first. Now, if there is a Bertolli meal in the freezer, there is a very good chance that I will come home to a hot dinner on the table.
Currently there are 12 varieties of the Bertolli Complete Skillet Dinner for Two. The portions are not huge, but are definitely sufficient. If I have time, I often serve them with a side salad. I tend to buy these in mass quantity now, which comes in handy if there are last minute guests for dinner. I can just cook two of the same bags together and have a beautiful dinner for four in ten minutes.
There is no product in the supermarket I recommend more than Bertolli’s frozen meals. They have honestly improved my life my leaps and bounds.
