My Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 is a Blast

While recently visiting an auto lot, I was looking at the conventional cars when suddenly out of the corner of my eye was a dot of black. It zipped around the corner and I lost sight of it. “What was that?” I asked my Buick salesman. “Oh, thatâÂ?¦that’s a Chrysler Crossfire.” Off I went to the Chrysler lotâÂ?¦I found the Chrysler Crossfire – the SRT6 Roadster model, that is. Developed with Street and Racing Technology in mind, this powerhouse is one of three models (Roadster Limited, Coupe Limited, and SRT6) offered in the Chrysler Crossfire line. The SRT6 comes in both the Roadster and Coupe models. Both are beauts. I knew when I first saw it, I was going to buy one. Here is the story of my Chrysler Crossfire SRT6.

I simply had to take the Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 Roadster for the infamous test ride. This is where I experienced firsthand the plain and simply exhilaration of driving this remarkable car. It is unlike any Chrysler I have ever seen! To sum it up in one word.FUN! This car puts the fun back into driving. It was fun watching people pull over for me to merge onto the freeway. It was fun to experience the crisp steering while taking the tight corners with ease, fun to sink into the leather trimmed seats with their firm lateral support and high backs, and simply fun to hear the roar of its 3.2L V-6 engine. It is even fun shifting gears! Let us not forget how fun it was to see all the heads turn as I drove by! This is not bad for a beginning MSRP of only $50,000.

Speaking of its engine, this supercharged and intercooled engine will allow you to take it from 0-60 in 5 seconds. Do not do this in front of your grandma’s house. It has 330 horsepower with 300 pounds torque. The Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 is noted for having more torque than a Porsche Boxster. The five-speed manual transmission comes with overdrive. Or, the automatic transmission comes with driver adaptic shift logic and Autostick. Why anyone would want to drive this car with an automatic is beyond me. This is proof that life is made up of choices. AnywaysâÂ?¦.

The excellent handling of this Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 car is due in part to the low mounted, all season performance tires, which are rated for up to 168 MPH. They are staggered in size similar to racing cars. This allows for crisp handling in the front and increased traction in the back. Another unique feature that helps with the handling is the deployable rear spoiler. Within 2-5 seconds of the vehicle reaching 60 MPH, this spoiler will automatically deploy to assist the car in hugging the road. I love riding in this car since I am close to the ground and feel one with the road.

The options on my Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 car are impressive. One of the options my test model came with was ESP – electronic stability program. This combines the four wheel, anti-lock braking system with all speed traction control. It allows the car to have the capability of a front wheel drive while also having the performance of a rear wheel drive. It will determine which wheel to apply the brake to. How about that? I had to order that feature for my car.

Another option I had on my test model (and have ordered!) was the Emergency Brake Assist. Here, the power booster helps provide maximum braking in emergencies. Drivers are still to be warned to have good driving skills. The features of this Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 car are so impressive, it almost sounds like the car does all the driving and takes all the precautions!

Interior-wise, the Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 combines beauty with practicality. The dashboard has silver lined controls with green light backing. The console, with a background of silver, separates the bucket seats with style. It is eye candy waiting to be used.

Exterior-wise, the most distinguishing feature of the Chrysler SRT6 (or any Crossfire, for that matter) is the center spine. Running from its hood to its dual center mounted rear exhaust, this spine gives the appearance of a well-chiseled, sleek delight.

The Chrysler Crossfire has won multiple awards including Car Styling Award, Automotive News Award, and “Best New Design” by the Automotive Journalists of Canada. That is a small list of recognition awards this spicy car has received.

The only drawback I can think of for my Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 is the fact that there is not much storage room in it. That is to be expected in this style of car, though.

If you are in the market for a unique, fun driving experience. Go check into a Chrysler Crossfire SRT6. Take it for a test ride. Be forewarned, though. You will be smiling for a week for no apparent reason. And, as in my case, you will buy one!
