Newry is a town in western Maine best known for the Sunday River ski resort. It also has two hotels, skiing equipment shops, a large covered bridge, and other attractions. Newry has a population of about 350 residents and is located in Oxford county.

Several businesses are housed in a long white stripmall-type building. These include a snowboard shop, the Slopeside Serenity Spa, a real estate agency, and a post office. There are skiing equipment sales and rental shops elsewhere in Newry. The Bear River Trading Post sells gas, coffee, sandwiches, ice cream, beer, hunting & fishing gear, and more. On the access road to Sunday River, there is a pizza take-out restaurant called “New York Pizza.” It offers calzones, sandwiches, salad, and beverages as well. Also on the access road, there is a restaurant and pub called the Phoenix House & Well.
There is a large covered bridge over a mostly shallow river. A normal bridge stands next to it and is used for traffic, while the covered bridge is only open to people on foot. Swimming is possible in the river, and there is enough parking for several cars next to the bridge.
The larger neighboring town of Bethel offers a greater variety of shopping, dining, and lodging establishments. Smaller towns in the area include Bryant Pond, Woodstock, and Locke Mills.
