Review of 2006 Score Select Football Cards

2006 Score Select Football Cards are set to hit the market at the end of July 2006. Score Select is the next step up from the basic Score set for 2006. 2006 Score Select Football Cards will come in hobby boxes that contain 20 packs. Each pack will contain 5 cards. On average, every box will contain 1 Autograph Card, 3 Rookie Cards, 2 Scorecard Insert Cards, 1 Goldzone Insert Card, and 5 other random Insert Cards.

The basic set of 2006 Score Select Football Cards will feature 430 cards. The first 330 cards will be of some of football’s top players and young stars. The next 100 cards will be the Select Rookies, featuring some of 2006’s top rookies such as Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart, and Vince Young.

There will be a parallel base set called Select Commons. The cards will be made on metallized film board. The parallel set of Select Rookies will be sequentially numbered to 599 or less.

The 430 card set of current players and top rookies will also feature the following parallel sets:
Scorecard – sequentially numbered to 100 or less
Gold Zone – sequentially numbered to 50 or less
Red Zone – sequentially numbered to 25 or less
End Zone – sequentially numbered to 6 or less
Artist’s Proof – sequentially numbered to 32 or less

Each base card will have an autographed parallel called Select Inscriptions. These cards will be sequentially numbered to 1000 or less.

2006 Score Select Football Cards will have an insert set of rookies called Select Hot Rookies. The cards will be sequentially numbered to 749 or less. The insert set will also feature the following parallels:
Hot Rookies Scorecard – sequentially numbered to 100 or less
Hot Rookies Gold Zone – sequentially numbered to 50 or less
Hot Rookies Red Zone – sequentially numbered to 25 or less
Hot Rookies End Zone – sequentially numbered to 6 or less
Hot Rookies Artist’s Proof – sequentially numbered to 32 or less

The Select Hot Rookies set will also have an autographed parallel called Select Hot Rookies Inscriptions. These will likely be the most sought after cards in the set. They will be sequentially numbered to 50 or less.

2006 Score Select Football is made for collectors who love the way Score makes football cards but wants a little bit nicer product. The Score Select cards will be very similar to the basic Score set, but the cards are a bit nicer. 2006 Score Select also gives the collector a much better chance of pulling a high dollar card.
