Review of 2006 Leaf Certified Materials Football Cards

2006 Leaf Certified Materials Football Cards are one of the most highly anticipated sets for the 2006 football season. It is one of the favorite sets among collectors every year because it is typically affordable, and the cards are very nice looking.

The 2006 set of Leaf Certified Materials Football is due out in September of 2006. It will come in hobby boxes that will contain 10 packs. Each pack will contain 5 cards. On average, each box will contain a combination of 4 Game Used Memorabilia cards and Autographs. One of the four will be a Freshman Fabric Game Used Memorabilia Card, and one will be a Fabric of the Game Game Used Memorabilia Card.

The base set of 2006 Leaf Certified Materials Football Cards will have 250 cards. The first 150 cards will feature NFL veterans such as Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and Hines Ward. The next 50 cards will be New Generation cards. These cards will feature 50 of the top rookies for the 2006 football season and will be sequentially numbered to 1000. Each of the first 200 cards in the set will be featured on metalized film board. The next 30 cards will be Freshman Fabric cards which will feature a piece of an event-worn jersey. These cards will be sequentially numbered to 1499. The last 20 cards in the 250 card base set will be Immortals. These cards will be featured on double rainbow film board and will include a piece of Game Used Jersey. These cards will be sequentially numbered to 250 or less.

Each of the first 200 base cards will have an autographed and a game used version. The autographed version is called Signatures, and the game used version is called Materials.

Each of the 250 cards in the base set will also have the following parallel versions:
Mirror Red: sequentially numbered to 100
Mirror Blue: sequentially numbered to 50
Mirror Gold: sequentially numbered to 25
Mirror Emerald: sequentially numbered to 5
Mirror Black: sequentially numbered to 1

The Fabric of the Game Game Used Insert Set will have the following parallels:
Fabric of the Game Prime: sequentially numbered to 25 or less
Fabric of the Game Die-Cut: sequentially numbered to 100 or less
Fabric of the Game Jersey Number: sequentially numbered to 99 or less
Fabric of the Game Jersey Number Signatures: sequentially numbered to 99 or less
Fabric of the Game Position: sequentially numbered to 50 or less
Fabric of the Game Team Logo: sequentially numbered to 25 or less
Fabric of the Game Team Logo Signatures: sequentially numbered to 5 or less

In 2006 Leaf Certified Materials Football, there is also a 20 card insert set called Certified Skills, a 20 card insert set called Certified Potential, and a 10 card insert set called Gold Team. Each of these insert sets has parallels similar to the sets listed above.

While all of the different insert sets and parallels in 2006 Leaf Certified Materials Football can be a bit confusing for this set when it comes to try and collecting it, it is one of the top sets to collect. A box is typically way under $100, which makes this box somewhat affordable to the casual collector. The price may go way up this year with the rookie class of 2006 being so popular. Every card that comes out of the 2006 Leaf Certified Materials Football packs is an amazing metallic looking card. The parallels are equally impressive. 2006 Leaf Certified Materials Football also gives you the chance for pulling a very high-dollar card without having to spend an arm and a leg which is nice in a market flooded with high-dollar products.
