Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends made its television debut on Cartoon Network on August 13, 2004. The show has been airing on Cartoon Network ever since. A total of 46 different episodes have aired since its debut. The show has been very popular during its run.
He show follows the world of a group of children and their imaginary friends. The imaginary friends are created when the children imagine them. The imaginary friends, however, are left alone when the child becomes older because the child no longer believes in them. The imaginary friends, with nowhere else to turn to, are brought in by Madame Foster who has set up a foster home for them, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. There are over one thousand imaginary friends living at Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.
The main characters on Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends are either humans or imaginary friends. The main human characters on the show are:
Mac – He is eight years old and lives with his mother and brother. He is the problem solver on the show and always wants to fix situations that have gone wrong.
Madame Foster – She is the owner of the foster home. Although she is very old, she still has an imaginary friend of her own. She is quite the crazy old woman and is always playing pranks on other characters.
Frankie Foster – She is Madame Foster’s granddaughter. Her grandmother’s imaginary friend is constantly bossing her around to try and get her to do work around the foster home.
Terrence – He is Mac’s older brother. He makes fun of Mac all of the time as well as Mac’s imaginary friend.
The imaginary friends on the show are:
Bloo – He is Mac’s imaginary friend. He is a small blue blob who is constantly getting himself into trouble.
Eduardo – He is supposed to protect the other imaginary friends, but he is very easily afraid. This conflict creates comedy on the show.
Wilt – He is a tall and red imaginary friend. He is always playing basketball and is a very nice chacter.
Coco – She is by far the craziest imaginary friend and is very difficult to understand. Luckily, the other characters often clarify what she says.
Mr. Herriman – He is a giant rabbit that is Madame Foster’s imaginary friend. He is president of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends.
Duchess – She is a very mean and selfish imaginary friend.
