Top Digital Camera Products Under $300

What a long way photography has come in just a few years. From using chemical-based film to using no film at all. And you do not even need a computer to get you pictures from a digital camera anymore. Some of the higher end ones come with there own “developer” systems, or you can “develop” them yourself at the local drug store Just put in the memory card choose what pictures you want and push a button.

First, let’s get a little information on what to look for in a digital camera. You can easily spend $600 to $700 and up for a high end digital camera, but for everyday use you can find one under $300 that works well, and gives you great picture resolution. Here are some of the terms to become familiar with before you begin too shop. Remember, shop around. Prices vary greatly and always look for sales. Know what you want and wait for the right price.

Basically what you need to look for is the number of megapixels the camera has. The one I have now is a 3-megapixel. The pictures on this site were taken with it. Basically, the more pixels your camera has, the more resolution (clarity) you will get. Also, you will need a memory card. Some higher priced cameras do come with one. Your camera will come with a built in memory, but you really need to get a memory card. They come with different capacities. The one I have cost me $15.00 and for a 3-megapixel camera it holds 100 pictures, for a higher pixel camera, the storage capacity would be less. The best thing is after you have downloaded your pictures to your computer, or printed them up, you can delete them and have your capacity full again. You never have to buy another memory card unless you really need to take a lot of pictures, like on that vacation to Hawaii you are finally going to take.
