So you’ve found yourself in Monterey, California? Well, for one, you are going to absolutely love the landscaping of this perfect geographical location. This city rests in one of the most beautiful and elegant places in all of California. So, it is no wonder that you have found yourself here, however, there is only one problem, what hotel should you stay in? Well, this is a very common question among all visitors, business and leisure, and often one just picks the first hotel they happen to come across. Well, I have reviewed the top three hotels in the wonderful city for your consideration. So, don’t just pick the first one you come across, read below and choose from these three, you’ll be very happy you did!

The first hotel in which I reviewed is the Hotel Pacific. This four-star hotel was built in an elegant adobe-style – which, fits in with the history of Monterey. The Hotel Pacific was built in 1985 and then was remodeled in 2003, into an all-suite hotel. When guests enter the lobby, which is lit only through skylight, they are immediately greeted by tropical flowers and plants, and during the winter, the large wood-burning fireplace warms the lobby, while giving it a very “homey” feel. This hotel attracts convention goers as well as business and leisure travelers due to the fact that it rests adjacent to the Monterey Conference Center. Some of the amenities this hotel features is the daily complimentary afternoon fruit and tea reception. This hotel also offers complimentary Continental breakfast. This Monterey hotel has 105 nonsmoking suites on its four floors. All of the rooms feature feather beds, gas fireplaces, hardwood floors, TV’s with VCRs.

The second hotel in which I reviewed is the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. This four-star hotel is outfitted in a Mediterranean-style and is perched directly over Monterey Bay giving guests the scent of fresh salt air, and the sound of lapping waves echoes throughout the hotel. This hotel gives guests easy access to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, as well as various outdoor recreations. Some of the amenities this hotel offers is a bay-view sundeck, with the adjoining spa. This five-story hotel offers 290 guestrooms with views of the bay or Cannery Row. Each room features large marble bathrooms with separate vanity areas, terrycloth robes, telephones with voice mail, and high-speed Internet access for a surcharge.

And the last hotel in which I reviewed is the three-and-a-half-star Spindrift Inn. This hotel rests on a stretch of beach along Monterey Bay, and is only four blocks away from the Monterey Bay Aquarium and a half-mile from Fisherman’s Wharf and all of the shops downtown has to offer. Some of the various amenities this hotel offers its guests is a rooftop patio and garden which provide panoramic views of the Bay. The patio is also outfitted with tables and chairs for guests to enjoy the lobby’s complimentary afternoon wine and cheese receptions. There is also complimentary Continental breakfast delivered to each guestroom on a silver tray – a very nice touch. This four-story hotel has 42 guestrooms, all of which have furnished balconies or window seats. The bathrooms have marble and brass baths, bathrobes, and Aveda toiletries.
