Guess Watches vs. JLO Watches

I own a watch collection. It doesn’t matter to me the brand just as long as I like the way it looks. I have Gucci, Guess, Anne Klein, Jennifer Lopez and I also have Thalia and Target brand watches, which are a lot less expensive. Anything to increase my collection. I, of course, take great pride in owning as many different brands but mostly I enjoy having different colors. I store them in a plastic container with dividers. The kind you find in a Hobby Lobby or any other craft store mainly sold to keep craft supplies organized. Well I use them to store my watches.

I was going through them this weekend; and I was miserably disappointed to find that my very expensive JLO watches began to rust. Yes, these $150+ watches are rusting. Not my Target watches; and not my $15 Thalia watches. No not those; instead some of the most expensive watches in my collection are about to be no good. Better yet they are no good; the only thing is that I refuse to get rid of them. I mean I paid so much for these items I expect to have top quality. My Guess watches are not even that expensive and they look brand new. I mean literally brand new. I must point out that I use the more expensive watches a lot less than I use my less expensive ones, so over using them is not the cause. I must also point out that these are watches I have acquired in the past 2 years, since I started my collection in late 2004. I mean my collection is about 50 to 60 watches. Eight of these are JLO brand; well six of them have rusted. I consider this to be a major investment for me. It has taken me great effort to collect them and I simply expect more. I expect better quality. For the amount of money I spent on Guess watches I feel their quality is just so much better. Now I feel that for the JLO watches I bought I just paid for her name to be on them. There should have been a note attached to the watch: Use only for a few months then disregard. It’s ridiculous if you ask me.

I seriously feel let down. This would be much easier for me to understand if I had paid $30 for them, or if I had owned them for more than 5 or 6 years. In my opinion the commitment from this brand is just not there. I feel as if though they did not prepare well enough to put these items on the market and they just began producing low quality items, pasting a famous name on them and pricing them outrageously. Now of course I will wonder about the quality of the other products they sell. I will be very skeptical next time I shop and come across this brand. My trust will just not be there. Once any famous person decides to put their name on a product an price it this high, they should really care about what kind and quality of product they are presenting to the consumer. Really, a famous person should look at what they are promoting regardless of the price. I feel their integrity is at stake. On the other hand it confirms that brands such as Guess that have been around longer have stuck around for a reason. The reason obviously being that they provide excellent quality products, that may be priced high but at least the are worth what one pays for them. This is my experience with Guess and JLO watches. Needless to say, I will most definitely not be buying JLO watches anymore.
