Laguna Beach Restaurant Guide

Laguna Beach is sometimes referred to as the California Riviera. With perfect weather, a spectacular coastline, and a laid-back vibe, I can see why. In addition to being an idyllic oceanfront community, Laguna Beach has numerous wonderful restaurants. So, in between your surfing, shopping, and sunning, here is a guide to some restaurants in Laguna Beach that serve great food.

If you are looking for a light, casual breakfast in Laguna Beach, the Koffee Klatch is a great place. Located at 1440 South Pacific Coast Highway, right across the street from the ocean, the Koffee Klatch is a peaceful little coffee house that serves great pastries and coffee. The giant muffin tops are my favorite. They are moist and delicious and Elaine from Seinfeld would approve of them. The Koffee Klatch also serves tasty sandwiches and salads and is a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Caf© Heidelberg is a great choice if you are looking for a casual breakfast or lunch in Laguna Beach. Caf© Heidelberg serves delicious food that can be either healthy or hearty, depending on your mood. It is also located right across from the Pacific Ocean at 1100 South Coast Highway in Laguna Beach. Whether you prefer an omelet, a sandwich, a salad, or dessert, Caf© Heidelberg will serve it to you fresh and tasty. You can even enjoy the great Laguna Beach weather, because Caf© Heidelberg has a spacious outdoor patio.

Both the bar and the restaurant are always crowded at Coyote Grill, and for good reason. The Coyote Grill cooks up excellent Baja Mexican food and the restaurant is located right on the Pacific Ocean in Laguna Beach. Everything from their delicious salsa and fajitas, to their huevos rancheros and margaritas, will leave your taste buds jumping for joy. Try their fish or lobster tacos for a true Baja and Laguna Beach specialty. If you are fortunate enough to get a seat on their outdoor patio, you may even catch a spectacular sunset. Coyote Grill is located at 31621 Pacific Coast Highway or on the internet at

If you are looking for great seafood, look no further than Caf© Zoolu. This small and eclectic Laguna Beach restaurant serves up the best swordfish I have ever eaten. Their portions are huge and it is well worth it to pay the splitting charge, because one meal should feed two people. This is especially true if you order the swordfish sampler platter. Another idea is to share one entr©e and also try one of their delicious appetizers or salads. Caf© Zoolu is located at 860 Glenneyre Street in Laguna Beach, just a few blocks off PCH. Reservations are highly recommended because the restaurant stays busy and seating is limited.

For a meal that is both delicious and romantic, Sorrento Grille is a wonderful choice. The dimly lit dining room at this Laguna Beach restaurant has two levels of seating and high ceilings. Located at 370 Glenneyre Street in Laguna Village, Sorrento Grille is not far from Laguna’s main beach. The crab cakes, steak, and seafood are all excellent at Sorrento Grille. Make sure to pace yourself though, because Sorrento Grille also has amazing desserts.

Whether you prefer casual or fine dining, Laguna Beach has a restaurant to suit you. For more suggestions on where to eat in Laguna Beach, check out the Zagat Survey for Southern California Restaurants.
