Many teens can’t wait to get out there and make a few dollars to buy their own stuff or save up for their first car. There are a ton of great jobs that are perfect for teenagers in Oakland, MD. When looking for a job though teens should look out for jobs that offer scholarship programs that help pay for college. Many of the chain businesses like McDonalds and others offer these. They may not pay as much as some other jobs they could get but you would get more in the long run. In Oakland, MD teenagers that work for the state parks qualify for scholarships as well.

If you are looking for some fast cash you could take up a job serving, you get to take home your tips after every shift so you aren’t broke in between paychecks. Babysitting is also another great option. Or you could look into something that is less time consuming than a normal job and you get paid every once in a while and work around your social schedule, things like doing yard work, cleaning out a neighbors garage, helping elderly with household chores, or walking dogs. Don’t be afraid to ask your neighbors or put up a ad in your local grocery store. You could also consider looking into working for one of the local farms.

Or if you don’t like getting dirty or working outside you shouldn’t apply in a non office type of setting.

Making sure you like your job with help the time fly by faster and some places you will wonder why you are getting paid to have fun.
