Munnar, India: A Beautiful Tourist Destination in God’s Own Country

Munnar is the convergence of the three mountain river systems, Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. Situated at 1600m above the sea level this hill station, leaves you with a cold summer sweetness. Rajamala is the home of the Niligiri tahr, a rare mountain goat which is becoming extinct. Rajamala is more than two thousand five hundred meters above sea level. The small herds of Niligiri tahr can be seen grazing in Eravikulam-Rajamala region.

Munnar is distinguished from the other hill stations in the exotic flora and fauna found on its hillsides, forests and lush green mountain bases. The mesmerizing sight of neelakurunji blossoms spread across the Rajamalai, like a blue carpet is one of the nature’s wonders. Nilakurunji is a rare blue flower that blooms once in twelve years.
