Why You Don’t Want to Try NetZero Internet Service

I live in a fairly small town and Internet provider choices aren’t housed on every corner. In fact, there’s only a couple of DSL choices in the area and they’re very expensive. I find many more options for Internet service online, where I can choose from dozens and dozens of services that provide Internet connection in my area. Needless to say, I’ve tried several different Internet providers but haven’t been happy with many – least of all, NetZero.

When my original and beloved Internet provider – our local energy company – cut their Internet services from their lineup, I was devastated. I had used them since I first arrived in the virtual world, with my Web-TV, and was very happy. I was blissfully unaware that there were providers that offered faster – or slower – services than I was currently receiving.

As I graduated from Web-TV to a computer, and learned to find my way around the virtual world a little better, I began noticing advertisements for other Internet service providers, so I began checking prices.

In a desperate bid to find another Internet service before the energy company finally pulled the plug, I tried several different Internet providers, hoping to find just the right one. AOL, at that time, was quickly becoming very popular and I gave them a try but was not happy when I started receiving the bill, since it was considerably more than I had previously paid to my energy company.

I then tried several others, and was disappointed in each one for whatever reason, until I got on the NetZero bandwagon a short while back. NetZero gave me a new appreciation for all other Internet service providers. Their service was so slow that I suddenly realized that I had already experienced the great ISP’s and had allowed the cheap price tag of NetZero services to sway me into making a fantastic mistake.

Immediately upon hooking up to NetZero I noticed that it was taking forever for pages to change or to open windows. I did some quick computer maintenance, but to no avail. Thank goodness I had opted for the high speed connection, at an additional $5 a month, or I guess I never would’ve moved along in my surf. At $14.95 a month, I was being taken advantage of, since I could never complete my work for the day and ended up losing money.

Needless to say I didn’t stay long with NetZero. Since dropping them, they’ve called me asking me to come back for a fraction of the original price that I had previously paid per month. After refusing that deal, they offered me an even lower price. For a split second, the price was so low that I was tempted, but I finally got hold of myself and managed to decline the offer.

NetZero changed my life, but only for a short while, and now I know I’ll never again go back to the life I had with them: click then make the bed, click then wipe down the coffee table, click then go load the dishwasher. I think I was getting more exercise with NetZero, though, so if that’s what you’re in the market for….
