Ten Reasons Why You Should Not Buy the Target Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet

Target is one of my favorite stores to shop in. I have bought everything from towels to furniture at this mega store. Generally I am quite satisfied with the quality of what I have bought. Unfortunately though I ran into a bit of a problem when I bought Target’s Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet in white online.

Online The Target Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet looked like the perfect piece of furniture for my small bathroom. It has clean lines that lend themselves well to any stile of decorating from vintage to traditional. The Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet measured in at about 3 feet high, 2.5 feet wide, and about 1 foot deep. Great for my small space. I knew I was going to have to assemble this product when it arrived. I was not worried though because I have put together all kinds of furniture before. I have to say though; nothing can prepare you to put together an inadequate and poorly made product.

Here are my ten reasons why you should not buy the Target’s Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet in white.

1. The problems started when I pulled out the instructions and started reading. The instructions to the Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet are some of the worst I heave ever tried to use. Specifically each step does not seem to lead into the next. You are basically left on your own trying to figure this one out.

2. As I started blindly assembling the Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet one of the sidepieces began splitting. I was assembling into predrilled holes, so I did not cause the material to split by screwing into material that was not predrilled. The material is pressed board and just can’t withstand any pressure. It is just too cheap, hence the words “wooden floor cabinet.”

3. The further along into the assembly process I got the more small problems arose. Assembly holes did not match up quite often.

4. Screws were missing from the assembly packets. I really started wondering if I was shipped a Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet that someone else had returned.

5. To make matters even worse I began to realize that the white color was not identical from piece to piece. You could see some parts were bright white, while others had a creamier white color.

6. After attaching the magnetic holds to the doors I realized that they did not even hold the doors completely shut. At this point I decided it was time to return the poorly made Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet. More problems ensued.

7. I called Target to complain, find out what to do to return it I was left on hold for almost fifteen minutes. I guess they had a lot of other complaints to handle.

8. After I finally was put through to a real person, I was told I had two options. One I could pay to ship it back or two, I could return it to my local Target and pay a restocking fee. I live in the city and rarely use a car, so taking it to my local Target was not an option.

9. The Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet form Target originally cost me $69.99. To expensive a price for something so cheap. Shipping it back would have cost me almost as much as it originally cost to buy it and I would have had to take it apart. In the end I decided to save my money and just throw it away. Chalk it up to a lesson learned.

10. I went online to write a review of the product and found out that many other people had had very similar problems. I should have read the reviews. Almost every single customer had exactly the same problems with their Target Classic Wooden Floor Cabinet.
