How to Care for More Than One Child a Day!
This may seem like a difficult task to accomplish, but this is really a lot easier than many parents may think. You may have recently had a second child and you already have a young child to care for. Or maybe you plan on babysitting in your own home for additional income. Well if this is something that you are thinking about the first thing that you will need to do is set up a schedule for yourself.
When I say set up a schedule I do not just mean a schedule that you keep in your head, but this would be a schedule that you can put on paper and hang up somewhere that you can look at throughout the course of the day. It may be best to create a spreadsheet in excel if you have access to a computer that has that program. This way if you need to make any changes it will be easy to do. Your daily schedule should include all of the children that you will be caring for.
You should plan to have group activities for all of the children that are specific to their ages. When dealing with very young children you should make sure you include time for their naps. It is very important that everyone include yourself eat at the same time. It is also equally important that they take their naps at the same time. This will allow you to have some quiet time for yourself.
It would also be a good idea to keep a journal for each child. This is especially important if you are babysitting children that are not yours. This way you will be able to let the parents know everything that they did throughout the course of the day. This will prove helpful when the parents take the kids for their checkups. If you have more than one very young child then you may want to invest in a double or triple stroller so that you can take all of the kids out for a walk at the same time.
Planning outdoor activities is another good way to give the children plenty of exercise and to keep them occupied. Remember most children only cause trouble when they are bored and are trying to find something to keep them occupied. This is especially true with very young children who are young and exploring new things.
When it comes to getting your chores and housework done it is best to get this done when all of the children are taking their naps. Then you can get as much done as possible. You can also get additional housework done in the evenings, when your children have gone to bed and any additional children that you were watching have gone home. The bottom line is that it is possible for anyone to care for more than one child in their home it just takes a lot of planning and even more hard work. But if you really enjoy caring for kids, you will find this type of work to be very enjoyable.
