Since they travel in packs, the bottle nosed dolphin will surround a shoal of fish, and they’ll take turns eating while others help herd the fish to the dolphins that are eating. While in the process of eating, dolphins will use clicks and whistles to confuse their prey. The dolphin can hold it’s breath up to 15 minutes, taking breaths in between.

The female bottle nosed dolphin is able to have babies at the age of 10. It takes 10-12 months for the female to give birth to her calf. Bottle nosed dolphins usually only give birth to one calf at a time, but at least to other female dolphins stay with her during labor. The dolphins that stay with her help by keeping predators away such as: sharks, whales, and other dolphins.

The bottle nosed dolphin is a mammal. This means they have fur, lungs, give live birth, feed their young milk, and their warm blooded. Even though the bottle noised dolphins appears to have no fur, it does. The fur is pushed back and smoothed down by the salt water as the dolphin swims.
