Adult Halloween Costume Ideas

Halloween is a wonderful and fun holiday. Halloween doesn’t have to only be for the children. Adults can have a good time dressing up for Halloween also. Here are a few fun adult Halloween costume ideas for you to enjoy.

Most adult costumes are safe to wear around children but you will need to consider this when you decide on your Halloween costume. If you are going to an adults only Halloween party then you are pretty much safe wearing what ever costume you would like but if there are going to be children around you’ll need to consider this when choosing your costume.

Carrot: To become a carrot you will want to wear an orange body suit (or an orange sweatsuit). Paint your hair with green mousse or colored hair spray. Then paint your face green with face paint. To enhance the costume you can attach green pipe cleaners to your hair to appear as carrot stalks.

Scarecrow: The scarecrow costume is a really simple costume. You only need a flannel shirt and some pants (preferrably baggy) and a straw hat. Take some straw and stuff it into the front of the flannel shirt, into the arms of the shirt and into the bottoms of the pants legs. Make sure that the straw is hanging out of all the areas to give the illusion of a stuffed scarecrow. You could even have some straw hanging out from under the hat also.

Sleepy Housewife: We all know what we tired moms and housewives look like when no one is looking. Here’s a way to turn that into your very own Halloween costume! Wear some of your lovely pajama pants and t-shirt. Wear your house robe over your pajamas. Rub some blue or green face paint onto your face to resemble a facial mask. Put your hair up in hair rollers, a bath towel or just a messy ponytail. Wear your slippers (with or without socks) and you will be all set for Halloween.

Here are a few adult Halloween costumes for you if you are looking for some couples Halloween costumes to wear with your spouse or a good friend. Keep in mind that these are just a few ideas. You are only limited by your own imagination. Just look around your home and environment to see many “pairs” to use as Halloween costumes ideas.

Tourists: To become tourists all you need are some matching tacky, brightly colored Hawaiian-style shirts, some matching khaki shorts, sandals (preferrably with socks) and a camera hanging around your neck. Just dress up in the clothes, add some sunscreen over that nose of your’s and you’re set to go.

Doctor & Nurse: For this costume you will need a lab coat and stethescope for the doctor costume. You could also throw in a notepad and pen to become the “prescription pad” that the doctor can use to write prescriptions for the nurse. For the nurse costume you can buy an actual nurse costume or just make one of your own. You can include a clipboard and some “forms” for the nurse to carry around.

White Trash Couple: For this one you just need to think of the old white trash sterotype. Wear old ratty and torn clothes. For the woman make sure you wear a LOT of brightly colored makeup. Bright lipstick, blush and eye shadow. Also wear some very large and tacky costume jewelry pieces. For the guy, rub some black face paint or makeup on your neck, face, hands and arms to resemble oil and dirt. Just use your imagination!

Adam & Eve: This is a fun costume for adult Halloween parties. Both people would need a pink pajama set, preferrably a 1-piece but anything tight is acceptable. You can get some large plastic leaves from any store that sells craft supplies. Use some fabric glue and place these large leaves in their appropriate locations on the pink pajama sets. You could also sew the leaves on if you’d prefer. A cute addition to this costume would be having “Eve” carry around an apple. You could also get some extra leaves and a vine or wire to create a crown for each person.

When it comes to adult Halloween costumes you don’t have to go with the normal everyday type costumes. For couples, you just have to think of things that come in pairs. Things like salt & pepper, Santa and Mrs. Claus, bride and groom. Just anything you can think of. Most importantly, have fun while you are creating your Halloween costumes.
