Born in 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Aretha Franklin is considered by many to be the Queen of Soul. Aretha Franklin has also won an amazing 18 Grammy Awards, the most recent in 2006 for Best Traditional R&B Vocal.
