Top Ten Songs by Metallica
The Black Album produced by Bob Rock, became a turning point for Metallica’s sound, as many fans expressed disappointment and outraged at the new sound of their favorite band, although it had won three Grammies. I have chosen most of the top ten from there as I do believe that it was their best album.
1. “Sad But True” composed by Hetfield and Ulrich released in 1992 on The Black Album based off of a 1978 movie entitled “Magic”.
2. “Wherever I May Roam” can be found on The Black Album written by Hetfield and Ulrich.
3. “Nothing Else Matters” composed by Hetfield and Ulrich as a ballad released in 1991 on the self-titled Black Album.
4. “Enter Sandman” written by Hetfield, Hammett and Ulrich and released in 1991 on The Black Album, this is a dismal story of a child who is afraid to fall asleep because of his nightmares.
5. “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)” from the Master of Puppets album written in 1986 and inspired from the movie One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
6. “Blackened” composed by Hetfield, Ulrich and former member Jason Curtis Newsted on the 1988 album âÂ?¦And Justice for All.
7. “One” Mettalica’s most famous songs and released as a second single from the 1988 album âÂ?¦And Justice For All.
8. “Fuel” from the album ReLoad and one of James Hetfield’s favorite songs, was written by Hetfield, Ulrich, and Hammett and was released in 1998.
9. “My Friend of Misery” composed by Newsted, Hetfield, and Ulrich.
10. “Fade To Black” released on the album Ride the Lightning in 1984, created by Hetfield, Ulrich, Hammett, and former second bassist, Clifford Lee Burton.
