Why You Should Watch Desperate Housewives!

Mystery, it can captivate you and keep you on the edge of your seat, OR it can turn into an abysmal cat and mouse chase. (Do I sound like the dead narrator yet?) There is a fine line and Desperate Housewives used to stay on the better half of it. Then last year, Alfre Woodard joined the cast, and though she is an incredible actress (along with Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, and rest of the wives) her storyline was regrettable. By the end of the season, I started hoping an earthquake would suck the Applewhites into the ground. (Luckily, I don’t write for Desperate Housewives.)

Season three of Desperate Housewives is already recapturing some of the Season One Magic, right from the premiere. Marcia Cross’s “Bree,” proclaiming that she doesn’t have oral sex because she is a Republican, to her new fiancÃ?© questionable past, which most likely includes murdering his wife, this season already has me on the edge of my seat. So far the only storyline that seems to be a little hokey, is the Solice’s immigrant maid carrying their child. Leave it to the talents of Eva Longoria, to keep the weakest of storyline’s afloat. Though, according to previews we are promised some heated scenes with an engaged John. I’m already placing bets that Gabrielle well get back with the hubby. Single mom? Never!

Let us not forget about our most desperate of housewives, Teri Hatcher’s “Susan.” As she pines for Mike, who is in a coma, we get to see Teri at both her comedic and dramatic heights. This is one talented lady, who can make you grab a Kleenex one minute and then accidentally dump an entire strawberry milkshake on a poor woman in a coma the next. Let’s hope we get to see more of her daughter than the premiere allotted, Julie’s really growing into a beautiful young woman. Susan’s romance with this fellow at the hospital is a story worth watching. Every second you wonder if Mike will snap out of it.

The most fascinating story is Felicity Huffman dealing with her husband’s love child. Always, the strongest character on the show, it is intoxicating and hilarious to watch Felicity act any storyline, let alone one where there is an ex-lover and a new kid involved. This proves to be the most riveting story of the bunch, but with this show you never can tell where it will all lead in the end.

Will the Solice’s reunite? Will Mike awake to find Susan’s lips locked with the nice bloke? Will Tom survive the wrath of his wife dealing with his love child? Will Bree throw caution to the wind and marry a murderer? Will the house of our first dead house wife EVER get sold by Edie? Will WE be able to contain ourselves throughout the week waiting to find out? All these things and more will be revealed to us season 3 of Desperate Housewives unfolds! I’m already hooked and it’s only one episode in. Here’s to Sunday night on the couch!
