Guide to Annual Halloween Activities in Panama City and Panama City Beach, Florida
Haunted Trail and Pumpkin Patch is an annual event sponsored by the Panama City Beach Junior Museum. This will be the 7th year they are to host this event. Haunted Trail and Pumpkin Patch is open to the general public both Friday, October 20th and Saturday, October 21st, 2006. Open from 5pm till 10pm each evening with the Haunted Trail accepting “Victims” after dark. A super way to celebrate the season. Something for everyone! The Pumpkin Patch and Peek-A-Boo trail for the youngest goblins in the family, the Creepy Cabins and Haunted Trail for all you older poltergeists. Yea, Yea, Yea hit the ground running!
This festival features one of the largest costume contests for children in Bay County, Florida. It’s a Hoot! 4 different age groups with 3 separate categories in each age group are judged. Local celebrities turn out to help and emcee the contests. This is when the children shine, they ham it up to no end and no child looses. Consolation prize bags for all, everyone that participates gets one – Your a winner! Professional photographs can also be purchased to remember the children’s experience in the Lime Light.

Halloween at Schooners Friday, October 27th, 2006. On beautiful Panama City Beach Schooner’s, the self proclaimed last local beach club, continues its Halloween tradition. Their claim to fame; spooky, scary, eerie, and extravagant decorations. Just walking to the entrance you’ll get an eye full. Outside the club you’ll likely see vampires, witches, coffins, and monsters of all shapes and sizes. Inside it is packed with ambiance, You’ll have to see that for yourself. It’s worth the price of admission.
Everyone attends in full regalia, extraordinary costumes. This year along with the fantastic festivities, you’ll get an attitude adjustment from latitude 29, Schooner’s band for the Halloween Bash. All participants arrive ready to Party, there is even a costume contest with cash prizes. A live band with attitude, rock-n-roll, dancing, craziness, and a costume contest with cash awards, what’s not to like?

The Festival of Nations conducted on October 28th & 29th in downtown Panama City, Florida. This is not celebrating Halloween; but, there are plenty of costumes. Fun to be had by all with many nationalities represented. Participants will be providing information about their native lands, customs, native crafts and goods, and some groups demonstrate their native dances. Very entertaining; however, I think the best part of this festival are the food vendors. The authentic dishes of all the nationalities represented are to Die For! You can eat all day.
Finally, it’s Halloween. Actually, every establishment on the beach and most around Panama City proper will have something special going on; but, for the young children the Panama City Fire Department this year presents Halloween Safety Night. Halloween Safety Night is conducted at 600 East Business Highway 98 central fire station, Panama City, Florida from 3PM till 9PM on October 31st, 2006. Children come in costume and can trick or treat in a safe environment. Fire department personnel address safety activities, information, and community setups are on site.
