PHP Auction – Working with the Configuration
In this tutorial I will show you how to manage the Configuration settings in your PHP Auction. Under the configuration settings you can
Edit Categories
Add Categories
Delete Categories
Add Sub-Categories
Delete Sub-Categories
Change the background color of the categories
Allow or disallow certain countries
Set up what type of payments are allowed
So let’s begin with the Configuration Settings.
Login to your Admin Control Panel. Under Configuration click on Edit Categories Table link. The next page will show you a list of categories that you already have on your site by default.
Add a Category
The first page that it shows you are your main categories. To add a category, simply go to the bottom of the page and type in the name of your new category in the Add Field. Then click Process Changes.
Edit a Category
To edit a category, simply delete the text in the description field and type what you want in the field.
Delete Categories
Before you can delete a category you must first delete all of the sub-categories. Once you have deleted the sub-categories you can then come back to the main category page and click the delete box at the right of the category. Then click the Process Changes to save your changes.
Delete Sub-categories
Click on the Plus sign beside the main category to get to the sub-categories. Once you are on the sub-categories page check all of the little delete boxes and then click Process Changes to save your changes. To delete only a few, check the boxes of the ones that you want to delete.
Add a Sub-category
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and type in the name of your sub-category in the Add field. Then click Process Change to save the changes.
Change the Background Color
You can change the background color of the category by typing the name or number of the color that you want to use in the color field beside the category. Then click Process Changes.
Once you are done there you can click on the Home link at the top of the page to go back to the Admin Panel. The next link is the Edit Countries link. Click on that link to add, edit, or delete certain countries.
Add a Country
To add a country scroll to the bottom of the page and type in the name of the country that you wish to add. Then click Process Changes to save the country.
Delete a Country
To delete a country check the Delete box next to the country and click Process Changes.
Once you are finished with that you can click the Home link at the top of the page to go back to the admin panel. Now I will show you how to set up the type of payments that you want to allow in your PHP Auction.
Setting Up your Payment Methods
You have many different payment options. It is up to you which ones you want to use. Click on the Edit Payment Methods link to start editing your payment options.
Add Payment Option
To add a payment option type in the name of the option in the Add field and click Process Changes.
Delete a Payment Option
To delete a payment option simply click the delete box next to the option and click Process Changes.
