Guide to Annual Halloween Activites in the Portland, Oregon Area

There is so much to do around Halloween in the Portland area. Here are just a few of the highlights.

FrightTown is an extravaganza of Halloween activities. It is open from October 13th through Halloween. FrightTown features 3 different haunted houses. The first haunted house is Elshoff Manor: The Asylum, where the patients have been taken over by demons and have taken over the asylum. The Black Box is full of darkness and blood. Baron Von Goolo’s Museum of Horrors & Food Court of the Damned is billed as a “madhouse of humor and horror”.

House of Midnight is open from October 5th through Halloween. It is located at the Bulwinkle’s Family Fun Center in Wilsonville. Its Halloween activities include two haunted houses: the Hatchett House and the Forest of Fears.

13th Door Haunted House

The 13th Door runs from September 15th through Halloween. The 13th Door is a haunted house full of genetically altered human type creatures. They have been breaking free and wreaking havoc on the facility that was meant to contain them.

Scream at the Beach

Scream at the Beach is open from October 6th through Halloween. There are many Halloween activities available at this attraction. There are five haunted houses as well as a gift shop, fortune tellers, live shows, and a snack bar. The five haunted houses are: Pirates-Brethren of the Black Flag, Nightmares II, Hayden Institute for the Criminally Insane, Curse of the Voodoo Woman, and The Black Rose.

Haunted Cabin is open from October 1st through Halloween. This personal yard display is free to visit. It has a fun house maze to scare the little ones, but it suitable for all ages.

Fright Night at Heiser’s Pumpkin Patch

Fright Night runs from October 22nd through October 29th. Fright Night is a fun Halloween activity at a pumpkin patch. Admission includes a pumpkin, a hayride and a haunted corn maze.

Quicksilver Haunted House

Quicksilver Haunted House is only open October 28th through October 30th. This is a guided haunted house that is located at the Clark County Saddle Club.

The Haunted Farm runs from October 14th through October 30th. The Halloween activities here include a haunted corn maze, a witch farm house and a graveyard.

Shanghai Tunnel Ghost Tours

The Shanghai Tunnels are located beneath the streets of Portland. A tour guide will lead guests through the tunnels and will tell the history of them as well as telling about ghost stories of Old Town Portland.

Howloween at the Zoo

Trick-or-treaters at the Oregon Zoo get to participate in a scavenger hunt. The hunt will send them to different Halloween activities within the zoo and they will be rewarded with prizes and candy.

Located at the Washington County Fairgrounds, Frite Lites runs from October 13th through Halloween. Halloween activities include two haunted houses, one of which is in 3-D, light displays, Monster land, and trick-or-treating on Halloween night.

The MAiZE at The Pumpkin Patch

The MAiZE is open from August 19th through Halloween, with certain evenings being designated Haunted MAiZE nights. There are many Halloween activities available at this pumpkin patch, including corn and hay mazes, pumpkin painting, hayrides, food, corn cannon, hay pyramid and cow train.

Halloween activities at Fir Point Farms include pony rides, hayrides, and horse-drawn buggy rides, corn maze and hay maze, hay slide, spooky tunnel, face painting, hazel’s nut house, corn village, and fair games. There is also live musical entertainment as well as food and craft booths.
