How to Make a Magnetic Board Folding Screen

To Make This Magnetic Board Folding Screen You Will Need:

3 Sheets of plywood

Two piano hinges

Roll of Metal Sheeting Material

Primer

Sand Paper

Paint

Roller brushes

Paint trays

Drop clothe

Power drill

Spray adhesive

Now, the first step to making this simple Magnetic Board folding screen is to buy your Metal Sheeting. You want to purchase these first because you can make this simple home storage d�©cor project a lot easier if you base the size of your Magnetic Board folding screen around the size of your cork sheeting.

You will find Metal sheeting in a variety of lengths and widths, so save money and go with what is affordable. It is sold at your local home improvement store.

Now, buy a sheet of plywood and have three pieces cut to size to fit your metal sheeting. You want to three identical pieces for a symmetrical folding screen. They should all be the same size. You can also do as many pieces of wood as you would like to make a larger screen.

Now, one other good bit of advise I can give you when making this simple Magnetic Board folding screen is to buy real wood. It weighs a lot less than MDF sheets. The real wood will make this simple homemade project look a lot more professional.

Now, go ahead and give your three pieces of Wood a light sanding. You could also use a liquid sanding product, which would need no sanding.

Paint on a coat of primer.

Now, once the primer dries paint them out in any paint color you would like. I recommend painting the Magnetic Board folding screen to match the existing trim in the room you will be displaying it. It will tie in nicely with your existing home d�©cor this way.

Now, the whole reason to paint is that you may have areas exposed behind your metal sheeting.

Cut you sheets of metal so that fit your wood panels. You may also be able to have these cut to size at your local hoe improvement store. If not they will usually cut easily with tin snips.

They can be the exact size, or even slightly smaller. If you go the slightly smaller route, then center them on each panel and glue them down.

Now, spray a light coat of spray adhesive on the back of the metal sheeting pieces.

Press them into place onto the wood folding screen. Press any air bubbles out with your hands.

Let this dry.

Now, once your glue has dried you can go ahead and install the hinges. I like to install the hinges by predrilling the holes.

You want to install the hinges so that they open in the opposite directions from each other. This will allow you folding Magnetic Board screen to stand up in a stable way. Simple place you hinges in place. Mark the holes with pencil, and then pre drill them with your power drill. Now you can easily screw them in place without breaking a sweat.
