Product Review: Joy Mangano’s Huggable Hangers

One night my wife and I were watching the Home Shopping Network. I have to admit, my wife is a huge HSN fan. Joy Mangano was the featuring her new hot product line, the Huggable Hangers. I do not know about you, but I cannot stand a cluttered closet. I like to be able to find my shirts and slacks without any problem, however my wife has so many sweaters in the closet that it makes finding my shirts more difficult. I was also frustrated with all the hangers laying around or sweaters that had fallen off the hangers. Anyhow, I had no idea how to solve this mild dilemma. At least, not until my wife and I caught Joy Mangano talking about the problems that were similar to what my wife and I were having and how frustrated she was with it. Then she showed her product. It was a brass hanger lined with a soft velvet flocking. She was able to condense her closets with her new narrower hangers, so my wife and I thought we should give it a try.

About a week later, we received the hangers. Would you believe it? Nothing ever falls off the hangers, no matter what the materials are. It also provided us with ample closet space. There was nothing difficult in using the hangers, nor in setting any of the additional items up. The pricing is a little steep, however it was money well spent. I have never seen anything like these hangers before and can honestly say I cannot foresee using the plastic and wire hangers ever again.

Think about it, the plastic hangers are so cheap that if they are on the ground and you happen to step on them that they literally snap apart. The wire hangers are a little different, they just contort to whatever shape they feel like. This is a disadvantage for your shirts and sweaters, because if they sit wrong then they get nasty wrinkles in them and get strange indentations in the shoulders. I, myself, hate having to iron the wrinkles out. The huggable hangers maintain the shirts shape better, which in turn saves a lot of time in getting ready to go out and I hate wasting time.

The hangers come in either brass or chrome. Obviously, the chrome hangers are the more expensive of the two. The velvet flocking comes in several different colors: black, platinum, sable, linen, camel, sage, hunter green, navy blue, wedgewood, lavender, burgundy, mauve, and pink. She also has several different assortments available: 120 packs, 52 pieces, 72 pieces, 12 pieces, 24 pieces, and so on. The prices range from $14.95 to $149.95 for these items.

My wife just placed another order that retailed for $365, however on HSN she was offering that product for $199.95, with payment options available. For the next 6 months it will cost $36 a month for this product. However, I have to admit I am looking forward to throwing out all the old hangers.
