Shout Trigger Stain Remover Vs. Spray N Wash Dual Power Stain Remover

It’s another beautiful day outside. My kids are helping me garden in the backyard. They love getting their hands dirty. They also love using their pants to wipe off the dirt. How do pants become napkins for everyone in the family?

I’m a mother of two children under the age of five. If it’s not dirt they’re getting on their clothes, then it’s their dinner or that wonderful craft that uses the leaky magic markers. I’m always looking for a good laundry stain fighter. I’ve consistently used Shout Trigger stain remover but I was looking for something new. I gave the Spray n Wash Dual Power stain remover a try. There were some unpleasant surprises in my experiment. Let me spare you the same experience.

The Product: Shout Trigger Stain Remover

This product has been around so long it’s a classic. I think I even remember my mother using this way back when. Shout stain remover comes in various dispensers and formulas. I am only reviewing Shout in the trigger bottle. This product is applied to the stain right before you do your laundry.

Advantages of Shout Trigger:

I love the trigger nozzle on this Shout stain remover. It dispenses the right amount of product. One spray is just enough to cover most stains. This formula doesn’t have any scent to it. This is a plus for my son’s sensitive skin. I’ve found this product to perform well in all water temperatures. It’s also colorfast. I’ve never had a problem with any items fading from this. Shout Trigger stain remover does a good job of getting out most of my stains.

Disadvantages of Shout Trigger:

I love the trigger and I hate the trigger! There is a problem with this bottle. The trigger sometimes gives out before the product is empty. To remedy this, I keep an old bottle around to switch out the trigger. Another disadvantage of the bottle, is that the trigger tube doesn’t reach all the way to the bottom. At times, I’ve had to pour the remaining contents into a new bottle. Waste not want not.

The Product: Spray n Wash Dual Power Stain Remover

This is exactly the new product I wanted to try. It has utilized new technology to help fight stains. The product is dispensed via a dual chamber bottle. It contains two different formulas. The ingredients activate when combined together. They create a fizzing reaction on contact.

Advantages of Spray n Wash Dual Power:

Spray n Wash has come up with an innovative dispenser for their Dual Power stain remover. I’ve seen the fizzing action remove stains from my clothes right before my eyes. This product definitely works on removing stains.

Disadvantages of Spray n Wash Dual Power:

The stain fighters are separated into two chambers. As you squeeze the bottle, the two formulas come out and combine. If you’re not careful with your squeezing, one chamber gets emptied before the other. The stain lifting results are dramatically lessened if you only have one side of product left. This product’s stain lifting power is almost too good. I used it on my daughter’s brand new green dress. It’s now a green dress with a random white tie dye effect after Spray n Wash Dual Power was applied to the front. This product has a strong scent. It lasts beyond the washing and drying. It doesn’t bother me but wrecks havoc on my son’s allergies.

The Verdict and Winner: Shout Trigger Stain Remover

Spray n Wash Dual Power may have removed stains better some of the time but it proved to be unsafe for colors. What good will my daughter’s stain free green dress do me with that big white splotch on the front? Shout Trigger stain remover performs consistently each time without harming my clothes. I’ll stick with my old classic stain remover. If I have a stain, I’ll just Shout it out.
