StepCo Natureloc Flooring

We got our StepCo cork floors in February of this year. Having researched cork extensively, we knew that it was durable, and an environmentally friendly alternative to wood flooring. Since the outside bark layer of cork is used for flooring, cork is a renewable resource. It also doesn’t need to be refinished, and it’s a warm, attractive option when the homeowner wants something sleek and modern.

Though there were many options for patterns and colors in the Natureloc line, we selected the most basic color in order to save some money. A warm, honey colored color, this pattern has a very small grain and looks both modern and warm at the same time. Despite our rustic cabin-like interior, this floor blends exceptionally well with the rest of our home, and I firmly believe that it would look wonderful in nearly any setting ,which is a huge advantage.

StepCo’s Natureloc line of flooring is exciting because it doesn’t glue down like many cork floors. Instead, it snaps together without any glue whatsoever. This fact makes it even easier for the homeowner to do the installation themselves, particularly since if an error is made, the piece of floor that isn’t correct can be removed and reinstalled.

Installation itself was very smooth and took us very little time. The floor is sturdy, and well made, and it fits together very easily. There were a few pieces with some edge damage, but I suspect that the problems happened during shipping and not at the factory. Due to the fact that both the backing and the floor surface itself is cork, the floor also cuts very easily with a jigsaw or even a hacksaw operated by someone reasonably strong.

Edges on Natureloc flooring blend almost seamlessly with the rest of the floor. When finished, your floor will look very much like one sheet of cork, particularly due to the color continuity that StepCo has been able to attain in their flooring.

We’ve had our floor installed for about six months now and have been incredibly pleased with it. Not only is it installed in our guest room and hall, but we also put it in one of our bathrooms as well. It has held up perfectly thus far, even through a few water spills, etc. StepCo’s floors are considered to be some of the best in the industry and I can see why. While easy to install, durable, and resilient, our Natureloc floors are also beautiful and a joy to have in our home.
