ROMANTIC VEIL HEADPIECE
MATERIALS
Tulle (either with edging or without)
2 Tulle pre-made ruffles
White satin rosebuds (20 – 25)
2 white satin flower sprays with leaves and wire stems
White pearl beaded sprays ( 10 – 12)
Tear-drop white pearl with hanging loop
White-covered floral wire, 18 gauge – enough to circle brides head plus 3 inches (shorter lengths can be used and twisted together)
White floral tape
White sewing thread
Sewing needle
Wire cutters
INSTRUCTIONS
Using 18-gauge wire measure around head and add 3-inches. To find center of halo, bend wire in center to form a slight “V”, overlap the ends and twist together and wrap with floral tape.
Attach tear-drop pearl with pliers in center of “V” and tighten.
You will be working from the center around on each side: to begin, place one pearl spray along outer edge of halo; tape into place. Continue taping sprays into place, overlapping each end and wrapping with floral tape. Next begin tapping white flower spray next to last pearl spray. Tape two more pearl spray close to flower spray. Repeat around.
Next attach ruffles with needle and thread on the back of halo. Stitch veil under ruffles. Tape two long pearl threads to back of halo on each side of veil.
VARIATION:
Sew pearl beads in various places on the Tulle: add floral, white appliques along edges of Tulle. Choose various colors of flowers for halo.
FLORAL WREATH HEADPIECE
MATERIALS
Silk flowers of various colors and blooms ( 75)
Satin ribbon to match flower colors
Floral wire (White) 18-gauge
Floral tape
Glue gun with glue sticks
Scissors
INSTRUCTIONS
Make halo around head plus 2-inches in area where headpiece will be worn. Cut two more pieces the same length.
Form each piece into halo and fasten ends and tape with floral tape.
Place all three halos on top of each other; tape all three together with floral tape.
Glue one end of a piece of 1/2″ ribbon to the back side and wrap ribbon completely around halo covering floral tape. Glue other end down on top of first end.
Next you will make loops to secure with bobby pins.
Cut two 3″ pieces of wire. Fold wire in half; twist ends to form a loop.
Making sure that loops are pointing down, twist ends of wire loops around each side of halo.
Attach cascading pieces of ribbon down the back of halo using glue.
