Save Money by Reusing Tumble Dryer Sheets for Jobs Around the House

If you use a tumble dryer for your laundry, dryer sheets are a must have. They stop things sticking together by reducing static, cut down creasing of fabrics and help to give your clothing a soft conditioned feeling. However, these can be quite expensive so it is economical to reuse the sheets for different purposes where ever possible.

If you place a dryer sheet in your pocket it will ward off mosquitoes, wasps and bees. Even twice used sheets will work in this way. If you are having a picnic, walking in the country, taking part in outdoor sports, or just trying to relax, there is nothing worse than being eaten alive by insects, or stung. This is a simple precaution.

Used tumble dryer sheets can be used for dusting around the house. The dust clings to them, so it isn’t spread around, or thrown up into the air. This is an important consideration if you are concerned about dust mites and allergies.

If you rub your dog’s coat with a used dryer sheet it will help to dry the coat, but also gives a fine coating that affords protection from fleas and ticks. If your dog licks its coat, it won’t come to any harm.

A used dryer sheet will make an excellent job of polishing glass. Try it on your windows after cleaning and washing, or on mirrors for a gleaming effect. Give glazed bathroom tiles and sinks an extra gleam by rubbing in the same way.

If you have every burned food onto a baking tray, or pan, you will know how difficult it is to remove the burned on, hard remains from the surface. Place an unused dryer sheet in the tray or pan and fill with warm water. Leave over night and in the morning the burned material will just rinse away.

Used sheets make great cleaners for TV screens and monitors because they put an anti static layer on the surface and dust will not easily stick to it again. They are also great for polishing spectacles.

These sheets make excellent deodorizers too. Put used sheets into a drawer with clothing to keep it fresh and into the bottom of diaper buckets, and bathroom and kitchen bins, to keep them fresh.

Dryer sheets are strong enough in fragrance to dispel moldy, musty smells. If you have a musty smelling cupboard, put a fresh sheet in there and leave the door closed for few days. It will freshen things up.
