Strasser Woodenworks: Review
About Strasser
There are many features and benefits to the Strasser Woodenworks Cabinets! Their “Plus” finishes are guaranteed to last a lifetime, the top and bottom edges of the vanity are sealed to protect against water and moisture (and bathrooms are full of moisture!). They have 6 way adjustable hinges, the solid wood is made of 3/4″ construction throughout the entire piece, the self closing drawers glide closed by themselves and stay closed, and the glide system on the doors are of the highest quality. Their doors have a “soft close” design, with a hydraulic system that self adjusts to the speed of the closing door. The drawers are some of the most space efficient I have ever seen!
Warranty
Strasser is expensive, but for good reasons. I have yet to find a cabinet company to warranty their products the way Strasser does! The vanity we purchsed for our bathroom is warranted against:
* Finish failure
* Hardware failure
* Hinge and drawer glide failure
* Material failure
This warranty is not, unfortunately, transferrable to subsequent owners, so it’s not really a selling point if you put your home on the market, but if you plan on living in your home for many years, this is one solid warranty. It does not cover labor costs however, so expense can still be significant.
The lifetime warranty assures the buyer that their products will be free of defects in workmanship, materials and finish failure for as long as you own the product.
Finish and Wood Styles
There are three different styles of finishes in the Strasser Woodenworks cabinets. The natural finish is clear and allows the natural beauty (and slight color variations) to show through. Specialty finishes are applied by hand, and can come in Dark Cherry, Cinnamon Cherry, Cherry, Maple and Biscuit. The glazed finishes are also applied by hand, and are meant to highlight specific areas of the cabinetry. Only the doors and drawer fronts are glazed.
Pieces of Furniture
The bathroom cabinets, or vanities, that I chose from were pieces of art! So much more than a typical cabinet! It was hard to choose among all the wonderful designs available. They have European style cabinets with built-in sinks, the more standard cabinet style, what I call a furniture style (the bathroom vanity looks like a bedroom dresser!!), or console style, which is pretty much a small table with a “wash bowl sink” resting on top. You can get matching mirrors to complete the look for your bathroom.
Strasser also makes matching pieces, end cabinets, medicine cabinets, as well as matching filler strips and crown molding! They have it all to give your bathroom that special beauty and charm!
Closing Thoughts
Once we ordered our vanity, it was delivered in two weeks, and my husband was able to remove the old one and install the new. Since we were replacing the same exact size as before, we didn’t have to worry about any changes in plumbing, messing up the fairly new vinyl floor, or any other such concerns. The piece is all that Strasser says it is and more. One look at this and you notice “quality”. It surely doesn’t look like what I call the cookie-cutter factory mass productions, this looks like a one of a kind, handmade piece of furniture!
If you have the funds, I strongly recommend Strasser Woodenworks! You can visit their website and use their “visualizer” to find the pieces that are right for your room and your project. If you visit the company website (www.strasserwood.com) you can locate a retailer in your area.
